LOL!! This brings back memories of having my second child. I went through most of the contractions at home, and finally told my husband that we needed to go. On the way, I realized that we needed to get there faster, but my husband refused to go through any red lights (there was no one around). Then when we got there, he insisted on rearranging his car so that it was parked perfectly. We went in to register, and as we were filling out the paperwork, I announced that I needed to push. Sure enough, we got a room quickly and the baby came soon after. I remind my husband from time to time how close I was to having the baby in his beloved car. :-)

You are correct. Christopher was about Liz’s age. Richard’ll be born soon. Later on, Leah the ‘12 fingered girl’ will be born.

When my mother’s water broke, she wanted to finish wallpapering my new sister’s room before going to the hospital.

Are you polling or seeing who remembers? ;-)Considering that labor tends to last 10+ hours, why not do a few last minute things on the way to the hospital? ;-)

Friend of mine back in the day related this story. His first child was being born and he lived 30 minutes from hospital. Wife said go and baby born in 31 or 32 minutes, at the hospital. Second child, they moved closer, about ten minutes. You guessed it, baby born at hospital in less than fifteen. Third and more they found a house across the street.

When I was born my parents got to the hospital, confidant in the fact that they had preregistered, but lo! When they got there, the hospital had lost the damn paperwork.

This baby will undoubtedly arrive before the one in 9CL. Heck, this strip’s baby APRIL will undoubtedly arrive before the baby’s born in 9CL.

Lizzie is looking at Christopher like she is planning something. Christopher is just looking at his mother.

Males never change no matter how old they are. It’s always….mom’s first and will always be first with them!

You should see my DH with his 98 year old mother. And I’m too old to still have a MIL!

If men had to have babies instead of women, the human race would be extinct by now!

That’s true. The first baby would be the last one. Ever.
