Well Sheldon couldn’t say the Democrat candidates are depressing him BECAUSE. THERE. ARE. NONE! …..And YES, I beleive Heart is ‘playing Dean like a Harpsicord’.
It always cracks me up how people insert the President’s middle name, as if it’s supposed to elicit a reaction. If, in the near future, someone commits a heinous act, and that person’s last name happens to be the same as your middle name, would you change it?
Herman Cain is the most intelligent and accomplished person to run for President in over half a century. In addition, he has a great personality. How can that be depressing… unless you are bothered by the color of his skin?
My first impulse was to write “Mark you blew it”, because it was entirely predictable that the comments to this strip were going to be politically-driven, far in excess of what’s actually inherent in the strip. But then, only a tiny minority of the readership of this strip is actually going to be reading this thread.
I suspect that the mention of the GOP presidential field was intended to be little more than a throw-away gag, particularly since this is a Friday; I doubt tomorrow’s strip will pick up on that aspect, and instead will simply move the Dean-Heart-Sheldon triangle plot forward.
Still, I wish Tatulli had just had Sheldon assuming Dean was upset about something less charged, like the Phillies being eliminated in the playoffs (although of course he wouldn’t have known THAT at the time he wrote the strip).
Cain’s 999 plan. Classic Republicanism. A massive tax cut for the rich. A massive tax increase for the poor and middle class. All R’s want this. Just in different forms.
It amazes me how many Republicans signed Grover Norquist’s no new taxes pledge are now advocating higher taxes for poor and middle class people. Of course, R’s don’t recognize them as human.

Wait … was the drama queen just giving Deano a script?!?
(And I’m with you, Sheldon.)

Dean should go dressed as something really scary. How about the economy?

I’ll vote for any Republican for President, because even the worst of them would be better than you-know-who.

I usually disapprove of inserting politics into the comics but MT started it.

Remember Saddam Hussein was a nom de guerre, trying to claim some connection to the Hashemite royal line.
John Wayne was really Marion Michael Morrison.

That’s true, they wouldn’t. Just because a president inherits a mess doesn’t mean he made it.

“Thank you, N-G49. It’s people like you who give us “furriners” some hope for America, despite what you let happen to it in the Bush years.”
__… “let happen”…?You hoping that we were all ready to “take up arms in defense of our” (and occasionally your “furriner”) liberty…? Pshaw!
__Most American’s heads are still in their pockets… or the baloney on “reality TV” and on little else…

I don’t have the energy for some jokey comment, so I’ll just move along.

Left, right, don’t matter, they’re all the same. Washington has become a hive of scum and villainy on both sides of the aisle.
