That’s not saying a whole lot, Ashburn.. A good portion of NE is somewhat hilly. Guess that you haven’t ever spent much time on the west coast or NW lower..

of course it might just be the amount of trees that gives the illusion that it is not as flat but I know most of the northern part of the lower peninsula is quite hilly

At first I thought, “Wait.. 8 1/2 square miles. That means the perimeter would be 26 miles!” Then I realized he didn’t say “miles square”.

Florida SUCK!!! Bad memories from when I was at school at Hurlbert Field, USAF in the Panhandle. I’ll never go back to Florida ever.

Ashburn, goblue and everyone else, thanks to the continental glaciers, parts of Illinois, Indiana and Michigan are about the flattest places you’ll find anywhere. Buried under lots of sediment after being scraped flatter by the advancing glaciers and with little time to develop drainage systems…They’re just about as flat as a pool table. That’s why the area in the north end of this county and the one just north of here are loaded with wind farms.Cathy D, they don’t call that area the Redneck Riviera for nothing.

Frazz is quite right about Mt. Pleasant MI!! No mountain, no hills. Yet we have the Tour de Mont Pleasant every summer.

Sounds like Texas’ problem with skiing – the mountains get no snow and the snow area (Panhandle) is too flat for any but cross-country.

Yeah, in my memories the Keys are very fine and colorful.and exciting. Lots of tourii, mostly women with money. Or easily-shucked menfolk, off fishing or whatever.I was young and studly and had dreams of being playground equipment.

Nope, I think it is Mount Pleasant, MI, dead center of the mitten. Flat, flat and more flat land. Of course there are a lot of Mount Pleasant’s in the USA.

Exactly. The panhandle is only a part of Florida because those darned politicians won’t let us move the border south of Tallahassee.

Now THAT’s funny. Spent 14yrs in Marathon. Intellectual population about 12 … in the winter. 2 in the summer. If you don’t fish, boat, or dive, don’t go.
