Heart: I'm going to be the dog. Which piece do you want? Dean: I will be darth vader. Heart: Darth vader? You can't be Darth Vader! Dean: Who says? There's nothing in the rules against using action figures. Dean: See, when you land on my properties I'll say, "it is useless to resist" or "don't make me destroy you!" Heart: Fine. Then I'm using my "Take kwon do Karlie"! Bye bye, Darth-y! Dean: Looks like Karlie wasn't counting on Darth's backup! Try building hotels during a withering tie fighter laser barrage! Heart: Yeah, well it'll be kind of hard putting up little green houses under the hooves of "rainbow mare"! Dean: real estate is a tougher racket than I thought. Heart: I'd say we're naturals.

I think the kids are on the right track. The object of the game is to have fun.

So why are Dean’s toys “real” (i.e. Tie Fighter, Darth Vader) and Heart’s toys are “made up” (i.e. Karlie, Rainbow Mare)? Is there some kind of copyright law that will let them reference Star Wars, but not Barbie and My Little Pony?
