“I get my pizza from a little up-stairs place called Mom’s. After she heats them in the microwave she even brings it down to me in basement.” - A thirty something son.
and I have the best deal ever – the bread machine, dough setting. Pizza is like the cheapest thing in the world to make at home – and the dough keeps very, very well in the refrigerator. I make a double batch of dough, divide it – it makes luscious breadsticks, wonderful calzones, and oh yeah, pizza! I top it with whatever is left over in the frig.
I used to live near a Papa Murphy’s, and I’ve never had better pizza. Now I’ve moved, and the nearest Papa Murphy’s is in the next town. I don’t believe that Papa Murphy’s delivers.
Thanks, Underwriter, you said it for me. Portland, Oregon has Flying Pie, which offers a gluten-free crust, but 24$ is too much for a pizza that’s not large, let alone giant. Better to make it myself. Luckily I can eat spelt.
DELIVERY GUY: Don’t worry about the black dots. They are not flies, they are black olives..DAUGHTER: Look, Mom! That black olive has wings. AND IT IS MOVING!!!

I like this idea. Bet it’s pricey, though.

We ordered a pizza-to-go while staying at a hotel once, and got one of this ready-to-bake type. Not quite what we’d been looking for.

Everything’s different when it has to be gluten free.

In Chicago we have Homemade Pizza which sells uncooked or partially cooked pizzas that you finish in your own oven.

350 F is not nearly hot enough for pizza — 550 or as high as your oven will go. An preheat the stone for an hour.
