    I don’t know who’s playing whom here…

I think JJ’s playing all of us.

I suppose if Gene wants to get away on the boat and Arlo lets him, ML would have less say in the matter than if it were Gus’s boat and HE let Gene use it. Maybe Gus intuits that Gene will occasionally need to get away from it all—or at least know that he could if he had to.

Oh, do the guy a favor, Arlo, take the boat off his hands…. It’s the least you can do. Take one for the team, Arlo!

As Gus said, this is the closest he can get to giving the boat to Gene and not have trouble with MaryLou. Look up “beard” in the urbandictionary.com if you’re not familiar with the term.

Come on, Arlo! You’re the beard, mustache, and bushy eyebrows in this deal. Get on board with it!

My dad had a 28Ft RV that slept 6. I did have to buy half a transmission once, but other than that, all it cost me was gas money.

Their relationship is definitely awkward. I always leave feeling sort of annoyed at how they communicate with each other.

Take the boat, Arlo. Then everytime the boat needs some work done, Gene would be glad to do it, and he knows the boat inside out.

This comic is funny without making anyone be the bad guy (male or female) and with anyone being stupid or ignorant. Thank you Mr. Johnson.

I hope he takes the boat. I’d enjoy a boat ride with Arlo and Janis, even vicariously.

Has anyone thought that maybe, just maybe, Gus has some health problems we dont know about and is trying to get stuff into the hands of people who will appreciate it? I think Gus is a good guy!

Fellow Kibitzer Kids: Don’t pull a ‘Frazier’ and over-analyze every word, comma and eyebrow lift on this arc. Gus is a guy that wants to keep peace in his upcoming ‘family’. He could just as well burn the boat to the water-line, but sees an answer before the question is even raised. He didn’t get a people-pleasin’ SeaFood restaurant by being a temperamental ‘kitchen dragon’ !
