I suspect the reason Romney hasn’t released his returns is that he doesn’t want to draw attention to massive donations to the LDS Church. But given the choice between Mormon Romney and socialist Obama, I’d vote for Romney even if he worshipped Satan.

Inconvenient fact: John Kerry was more wealthy than Romney when he ran for President. Didn’t see the Left or the media rip into him for that. They were hands off John Edwards as far as wealth (and the scummy way he made it). They never mentioned how Al Gore was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, and how he has greatly increased his wealth profiting on Global Warming. They give Harry Reid a pass on the illicit ways he made his wealth (and he has NEVER made a tax return public) and how Obama got his Chicago mansion at 50%, with the help of jailed felon Tony Rezko.

The Church of the Latter Day Saints (Mormon) like many other churches request “tithing” either in financial donation or in labor. Not being LDS, I would assume that like most other religions the tithe would be 10% of his income ( whatever that is ).I have spent a great deal of my life in the Southwest living and working with many people of the Mormon faith. I will say this, if the other churches and religions in this country took as much interest and care in assisting their less fortunate members as the Mormons do for their people, there would be no welfare and no unemployment. The LDS approach to assisting their flock and husbanding their resources runs absolutely contrary to the claptrap currently being espoused by Romney in his campaign.

Geez, 4 million on the volcano lair? You’re slacking, Mitt, every supervillain knows that a GOOD volcano lair runs at least ten figures.

The RealZarthArn, Linquist and fritzoid, Thank you for your comments. It’s interesting how much thoughtful dialogue plays out in the comics. GoComics!

If some guy can create a high-tech lair under a volcano AND get a tax deduction for it he’s got my vote. That would be the guy who can fix the economy, and who wouldn’t want that guy to be the president. (Unless Obama has a Space Fortress behind the moon with a giant laser and got a tax deduction for both)

Willard was asked if he ever paid taxes at a lower rate than 13.9%. He said he DIDN’T KNOW, he’d have to go back and look.
-He promised to the interviewer that he’d go back and look and respond to the question. To date, he has refused to respond.

OK, now I’ll make a flat statement without offering any sort of corroboration:Last year, all democrats together gave 263 million to charity – all republicans together gave only a total of 24 million. There – you heard this on the internet, in GoComics. Must be true.

Oh, you mean the one time he released a partial tax return and made sure he positioned himself to look good? I wonder how much he gave the other 11 years?

Romeny wants to be a very private man in the most public office in the nation. Maybe he should consider some other career?

Having spent considerable time in other countries, I can attest to the Mormons willingness to help their own. Problem is if you are hurting and you aren’t Mormon it becomes a case of join or be ignored. Not exactly the kind of aid I expect from the Good Samaritan.
