By as early AS 1987, an “oopsie” pregnancy wouldn’t have forced an aspiring NBA player out of even college ball, and in addition, he’d probably make more than enough that Donna could have just stopped out until Miles was old enough that she could feel comfortable going back to college full time (not to mention that I’d think you’d still have to have a bachelor’s degree just to BE a substitute teacher even in their time).
Was that less true in 1976 or ’77 when Miles was on the way?
That said, I almost hope he isn’t mature enough to understand what the two of them just said.
A Mother blaming her child, and the man she gladly married, for her choices is a jerk and a lazy mouthed liar. The women around Miles are selfish and mean.
Had a co-worker whos dad said he didn’t want her or her sisters even dating until they finished college. She started dating someone form college and they got married without dad knowing. She quit college. I don’t know how dad reacted

Dad wanted to go pro, but he’s just an amateur next to Mom.

I once asked my dad for an encyclopedia. He told me I had to walk to school like everyone else.

Dreams are nice but life always seems to interrupt them.

All parents resent their kids and have buyer’s remorse. They much prefer pets.
