“It’s great that we’re moving into the apartment above Montoni’s! This way you can be at work ALL THE TIME, Mindy! By the way, I’m going to a comic book show this weekend, so you’ll have to pull double shifts. Good luck!”

“Say, Jff, are we now in the 1940s?”“No, Pmm, it’s 2024. What makes you ask?”“Because I want to know why we’re sitting on this ancient porch swing in this hot, muggy weather when we could be inside enjoying the air conditioning!”“Relax, Pmm, it’s not like we’re sweating in this awful heat!”

Whatta ya know — Crankshaft himself shows up and STILL you folks complain. Go read Andy Capp or Fred Bassett — then you’ll have reason to gripe

I guess a Crankshaft comic strip completely free of Funky Winkerbean elements is too much to ask for. We’re still stuck with Mopey Pete, Westview, and Montoni’s.

Was Ed fired from his school bus driver job? Has Beans End gone out of business? Has Ed been banned from the Dale Evans restaurant for paying his bill with a sock penny?

Mindy is handling that stair climb a lot easier than her no-muscle-tone pasty BF is.

Panel Two: “You don’t want to fall!” Ed is correct: MoPete and Mindull don’t want to fall. Krankus, on the other hand, would love to see them take the plunge; in fact, it’s why he came over.

Am I remembering wrong, or when Pete asked Crankshaft for permission to marry Mindy, wasn’t Crankshaft in a nursing home and clearly in the last stages of dementia? He was in a wheelchair and unresponsive.
