I love it when I see on the big screen, the little screen and in the comics a life-threatening situation and loss of life is a very certain and great possibility and yet throughout the intense danger surrounding two individuals, they will have no concern as to what is happening around them and they continue to be locked in mortal and deadly combat, determined to do lethal bodily harm to their adversary… the hatred is so over the top and intensely ridiculous when any NORMAL person, would say, “FOOK THIS, I’M OUTTA HERE!”, and try to be the first out door and out of harm’s way and death…
what IS it with these morons?… a fire or an earthquake could be happening allaround them and they have to be the one to wind up on top of a situation and their enemy…
is it so hard to get the hell out of a situation and continue their personal antagonism at another and much safer location?…
That’s our Sprocket. Not a gal to wait for an invitation, or in this case a bullet. Someone has to help get them out of there so it might as well be her. Maybe the fire or smoke will get to the mad boy before he can hit another target if Tracy and Sam don’t get to him first. I would throw that axe at Madboy after getting the door open and then run like the dickens.
Sad, this story had potential and it was ALMOST pretty good…but a lot of things were just too choppy and too many seemingly endless dangling plotlines were thrown in at one time…and altho we FINALLY saw Sam and tracy doing actual detective work, it was all meaningless and bore no fruit…from the cars entering and exiting the parking lot, to the unexplained “A-HA! of Sam finding a candy wrapper just proves the total and complete inefficiency of the tracyville police department. That being said, this story had a LOT more going for it than most tracy stories, but the “stretching” is what ultimately killed it
Can I point out yesterday I mentioned the gun went flying at the start of the fight on friday. so continuity has surrendered completely here. and why not turn on the hose and aim it back at the swerver room? not to fight the fire but to throw off the idiot’s aim while someone big and brawny does for the door with the axe.
In the comics and TV series, non-cops who disarm a murderous thug, NEVER pick the gun up and take it WITH them; They always leave it for the murderous thug to pick up and try to kill them again! I’m not saying every ‘would be’ victim should pick the gun up and SHOOT the thug, [since the ‘would be’ victim would be charged by a Soros elected DA with murder!
I’m confused as to why Madsen’s trying to kill Audie. On July 26th Audie said he had what Madsen wanted (money) and on August 5th we even see the envelope full of cash. Why didn’t he just take the money and leave? Even with his car seized a career criminal like him should have easily been able to find a way out of town and all that cash would have definitely made that easier.
I bet that in the next two days Sprocket gives Madsen a flying axe to eat. (Afterall, she has already killed Stiletto Jones with a thrown film cannister.) – Unknown whether she manages to escape (being recognized by) Dick Tracy or Sam. I hope she does. I would like to see more stories with her in them.
You wanted something besides Talking Heads? You were tired of talky strips that put you to sleep?
Today we’ve got the action you craved. The Server Room is in flames. Crazed “Leech” Madsen emerges shooting; we see at least two shell casings ejected from his pistol (a.k.a. semi-automatic) as he fires at Audie. The door is jammed! Sabrina is panicked! Audie channels his Inner Bard and suggests “be fire with fire”! Action-Girl “Susan” takes the cue, grabs the fire axe, demolishes the lock! Next, with axe, she can unseam Leeland from nave to chaps [navel to jaw]; Sprocket can be so bad-ass when triggered….

APB for Madsen! Shut down the operation
Workers scatter in the wind to Sprocket’s consternation.
Situation has grown grim. Temp gig for extra cash
Turned into a fraught affair. Time now to make a dash.
Smoke comes from the server room. What’s this mess about?
Stay and help or run away? “Susan” hears a shout.
There’s a rumpus going on. Audie pummels Leech
Who grasps for his revolver, no longer out of reach.
Sprocket needs to save herself and spies a sharpened axe
Let us end this brouhaha. Past time that we made tracks.

Remember the days when Dick Tracy would actually be at the center of the action during the climax of a story in the Dick Tracy strip?

A note: The name of the other officer who was killed – Deputy Sheriff Taylor Lindsey – should also be mentioned.

Very unusual fire— somehow it’s added ‘ROOM’ to the SERVER sign.

Now, if anyone is trained in Frankish battle tactics, they can take out Madsen with the same axe.

1-ROD THE BOD MADSEN: TAKE THAT! Oh. AND THAT! Wait. Where is he…?
2-AUDIE: Did you hear shots? SABRA: Probably soda cans exploding from the heat.
3-AUDIE: STOP THAT! That door is to be opened only in the event of emergencies!
4-CHAINRING: Well I’m starting to smell burnt “toes” so …
5-…YOU CAN JUST KISS MY AXE!
MADSEN: MARCO! SABRA: POLO! AUDIE: SHUT UP!

I’ve been in server rooms. Usually they cramped and packed with lots of stuff that gets hot but doesn’t really burn. Piles of paper, maybe?

Is Audie having a William Shakespeare flashback? Knew that English literature class from high school would come in handy one day.
