Could that be “our girl” being blocked by squad cars ? Gym lady has just bought a ticket to Libby’s upcoming bust ………. as a participant ! I bet she knows about the stabbings. _I’m for letting A.D.D. agent “Bear” handle the interrogations for this bunch.
Aha. So Goldilocks has lotsa accomplices in cahoots eh. First that book binding store guy who is calls her and alert her (which investigationer never bother to finds out who) about poor book binding guy meeting cop and now this wicked woman. It look like Goldilocks running a whole crime syndicate.
Say why’d anyone texts right in front of cops? They coulda easily texts discreetly or right after cops is gone. Ah the plethora of plotholes in preposteridiculudicrous plots eh.
Libris has Frontguy at the bindery who knows she is a criminal and willing to have his co-worker killed to… I’m not sure why. Frontguy already knows Backguy has spilled the beans to the cops. Will Libris running him through change anything?
Worker at the club texting Libris only makes sense if Worker knows Libris is a criminal also. (If the police show up with a search warrant any normal person does not send out a text – incurring arrest for interfering with the police in the performance of their duties.)
Oh, and obviously Backguy knew Libris was a criminal… She left the freakin’ evidence in the books she brought into the shop.
And, of course a library the size we were shown must have a staff, who would realize the new acquisitions were suspicious.
Is Libris that incredibly stupid that she doesn’t care she’s left a long string of obvious evidence behind? And, if she’s that stupid, why did she bother to clean up after the one murder? Or did she clean up… Maybe she’s so rich she just hired a cleaning service? “Hello, Acme Cleaners? I need you to clean up a murder scene and hide the body for me. Here’s the address…” Is everyone in the city except Owen and the cops taking her money to turn a blind eye to the crimes?
My jaw dropped some time ago, I’ve still seen no reason to pick it up off the floor. (Well, except when I need to chew.)
I like the use of perspective in panel 3, but … when i text, I have a keyboard on the screen. I doubt she’s using voice transcription in front of that cop. (Yes, it bugs me enough to diminish my enjoyment.)
My question is, didn’t XL tell Tracy that if someone tried to break into her library, they’d wish they hadn’t? So is the place wired to blow with a sewer escape hatch for her……
When a person dies without a will, it’s said that they died “Intestate”. So, if a person dies (for reasons not germane to this thought puzzle) without their balls, is it said, in legal circles, that they died “Intestes”?
I had a thought – I typed a thought. It’s just that simple (if you’re looking for an explantion)
Eh distracted by all the plot holes me is completely miss out on awesome artwork today. That in the last panel is one splendid example of a perfectly done perspective. The girl’s hand and the phone she holds, cop nabbing her, a great three dimensional effect rendered on a two dimensional screen. A perfect perspective art is something only true master cartoonist can master.
I know this is a stretch but here goes. Libris is going to challenge Lee or Liz to a fencing match. If she loses, she’ll go peacefully. If she wins, everyone will have to wait for her high price lawyer to arrive. However, I would like to know who snuffed out the courier in New York. The guest writer probably won’t reveal it.
Will the story lines in Dick Tracy ever get “legs” again or is the “soap opera” route the future? Crimson Knight should be out of the police academy by now. Maybe the next case can involve him as a patrolman. Nah, Mike and Shelley are saving him for a rainy day.
The squealing club attendant is caught red-handed, phone text boldened, by the female cop squad raiding the club gym’s locker room! More incriminating activity is brought to light. And, unless it is “in service,” the épée-case is about to be found and confiscated.

It would be really mind-blowing if Libris also has a paid informant on the MCU, but I doubt the writer will go there.

Tracy villains very rarely have brains enough to quit while they’re still alive.
