There were plenty of people, myself included, that when running errands would put it on at their first stop and not take it off till they were done and heading home.
I’ve reached the stage where I no longer care anymore and with my luck in close calls I could probably walk though a Covid ward with no protection and not catch even a cold.
I don’t care if someone wears a mask in the car. I’ve forgotten that I have been wearing a mask numerous times. if you don’t wear one when you’re in a group of kids, then you’re at fault if of them gets sick. the big caveat here is that we are on summer vacation. I only had to wear a mask in the public transportation, which is honestly about protecting myself. It’s recommended by the transportation officials. it will be enforced if/when the number of cases rises
Why do people feel the need to put others down? If someone wants to wear a mask alone in a car to keep their nose warm, to cover a blemish, to enjoy the scent of the mint they just ate, or just because they are more comfortable that way, why would you conclude they are inferior to you?
I find it amazing that other people look at drivers. I never worry about what the driver is doing, except in the sense that I worry about what he is making his car do.
When I first started getting masks, I noticed that they were often labelled “dust and pollen masks”. When I started wearing masks, I noticed I had less problem with my allergies. I sometimes still wear them outside during pollen season.
I’ve had four shots and one or two cases of covid ( not sure one was but it felt like it). Covid doesn’t do much if you are vacced. In fact, when I tested positive, it felt like a minor case of flu. However, I was totally contagious. So, if I’m wearing a mask now, it’s just to try to take care of those too stupid to take care of themselves. That is above and beyond the call of duty, but they could carry it home to their kids, so I wear the !$@$# mask.
What possible difference could it make to you? Are you so inferior this is the best you can come up with to feel better about yourself? Ha, ha! That person is wearing a mask – I must be smarter than they are! Sheesh. How pathetic.
I’ve always wondered that myself: Alone, in a car, wearing a mask. Huh? Then I figured it must be just a force of habit since I caught myself doing it a few times.
Oh yes, wearing a mask will keep a virus from getting in that’s measured in size in Angstroms (one billionth of a meter). The only thing you get is virtue signaling, imagined protection, and less oxygen to the body). Aside from accumulating bacteria on the mask. Read Fauci’s own dissertation on the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1919. Most people died from bacterial infections from wearing masks.
I have three friends who had a parent die of Covid. I don’t care if I see people wearing a mask when I think it’s probably unnecessary. They have their reasons and it doesn’t impact me.
Honestly? Could not care less if someone’s wearing a mask alone in their car. I take mine off when I hit open air, usually, but my husband often forgets he’s wearing his.
Also, from the earliest days of the pandemic we were told not to touch them unnecessarily, so maybe people are in that habit. It’s not a bad habit to have.
But seriously? It affects me not one whit, so why care?
OTOH, someone using their phone, or shaving, or putting on makeup while driving? That concerns me.
I wear a mask when I am in a situation where others are wearing theirs or when I have a scheduled medical procedure that would put me at greater risk if a covid infection occurred. I frequently forget it is on when I drive and it stays like my eye glasses do.

People wear a mask in the car because they like driving with fogged up glasses.
saylorgirl over 2 years ago
I never understood why people (still today) wear them. They are hot, you can’t breathe and are unsanitary from messing with them all the time.

In Italy, they are weared only on public transport. What’s the point of taking them by car?

In my younger days on my commute to work I would frequently pass this slow driving guy wearing a motorcycle helmet at the wheel of his car.

It is a sad commentary that real conversation is not allowed anymore without someone believing he has to end the converstion rather than continue it.

This comic isn’t even about the mask, it’s about cancel culture. Get off your soap box, you might fall.

That’s going to be really funny if there’s no strip tomorrow.
Mary Sullivan Premium Member over 2 years ago
I’ve wondered that too. Maybe they just forgot to take it off? Mine is off the moment I step outside!

This would be an interesting way to end the strip – take a pot shot at “them”.
Tomorrow will tell…

Please tell us this is a joke and not a way to announce the strip is ending! Guess we’ll find out for certain tomorrow.

No need to censor anti-vaxers-anti-maskers only see and hear what they want to see and hear.
