John is taking April to the daycare to allow Elly to be at the bookstore on-time. Maybe someone should tell Elly that bookstores generally open at about 10 am-ish.
Everyone is so focused on the shoulder pads, Elly is gettin a pass for trying to “dance” into her pantyhose (which have been passé for almost as long as shoulder pads have.)
Those of us who routinely wore pantyhose knew better than to try to put them on while standing up, especially when in a hurry- that’s just asking to face-plant.
From Lynn’s Comments: You can’t do a strip like this unless the idea comes from real life. Unfortunately, it was a customer who told me I had my sweater on inside out!

1990s fashion lives. Of course clothes still come with shoulder pads to this day, but not like the 1990s.

Shoulder pads? No more Dynasty, Knots Landing or Falcon Crest for you, Elly Patterson!

How many of you hop around putting on socks, leggings, pantyhose, pants or shoes Elly-style?

A lot of women’s clothing is just plain terrible. I think the people who design it don’t like women very much.

Lizzie’s smart. I probably wouldn’t have known what I was seeing and just assumed it was normal.

I hate shoulder pads. I don’t even see what purpose they serve.

Do shoulder pads still exist by today’s standards?

During the strip’s period no-one I knew ever wore shoulder pads. Either we were out of style or just smarter.

“No honey. I meant to do that. It’s the latest trend. "
I also never liked shoulder pads. Never understood the trend.
