Good weather = road repair time
got that right
At least we no longer have pot holes.
Yep
Where I live, they tear up the roads, then leave them for a few months, then finish the job.
Lately they have set up zippers, you drive through them…no equipment, no reason…nobody there? Coming back, they’re gone
until they award the contracts to the best contractors instead of the lowest bidders the roads will always quickly fall apart
Used to be common along Rte 66. Good way to get tourists to shop local businesses.
It’s orange barrel season
Road sign: “Please use main road while detour is being repaired.”
What’s yellow and sleeps six?
A public works truck.
I90 up here in Montana is half closed going through Bozeman. Working on bridges and roads.
We know when the sewer lines and waterline are going to be replaced, the roads are paved first.
Look at it as a chance to take the road less traveled.
spring has sprung, the orange cones are in full bloom
Ain’t that the truth‼️
Road to perdition. :)
Just the two seasons around here, “Winter” and “Construction”…!
They must be in Michigan, with its four seasons:
Almost Winter
Winter
Still Winter!
Construction
The last couple years, the winters have been mild enough that construction season never fully ended.
I think road-crew workers are probably a migratory species. They head south for the winter, then return north in the summer.
“Expect Delays” yielded no potato chips whatsoever.
For holidays around here, they suspend road work.
Vacations and road repair peak in summer because that is the best weather of the year. People want good, warm weather for vacations and for road repair.
Getting there is half the fun?
My conspiracy theory is that the oil industry is behind all these traffic jams so that we use up more fuel…
