It’s a lot like an earworm that you can’t get rid of: The answer there is to look up the lyrics and sing it all the way through… or the music and listen/hum all the way through. Then your brain stops obsessing. In this case, just go look up the history of that building.
Two old golfers, one with bad eyesight and the other with poor memory, went out on the links. The first one teed off, and then asked his buddy, “Where did it go?”
I used to believe the opposite of love was hate. I found out I was wrong…I now believe the opposite of love is apathy. If you’re truly apathetic, you don’t care about anything. It’s not terribly difficult living with true apathy, but it does make it terribly difficult for others to live with you.
Anything taken for granted and which disappears from one’s normal view, leaves a gap until it doesn’t matter anymore. It’s like losing a specific tool or item that one has had for years but rarely used after its initial time. It makes a gap that seems to need filling but which slowly fades over time.
I thought for a minute Mrs. Olsen was walking her cat. A bit disappointed when I realized it was really a dog. More people should walk their cats (instead of endangering them, and wildlife, by letting them roam free).
It might be along the lines of a person going on vacation and wondering, “Did I forget something? Did I leave something turned on?” Mrs. Olsen is probably wondering, “Was there something important about that place that I should have remembered?”
