Invulnerability means not needing the padding. And if Batman was packing on as much protection as an NFLer, he’d be as mobile as Keaton in the first movie.
I think it’s all about the love of carnage. American football is rough, yes. But from what I’ve been told (cannot verify this myself) if there is an injury in rugby, the medical team goes out on the field to take a look at the befallen, but the game continues to play around them. Then there’s the blood time-out in Rugby…not quite sure exactly of the details with this rule. Maybe the guy from England explaining the game to me was pulling my leg. Oh, yah…I almost forgot….no helmets. I mean why wear a helmet when you can just tape your ears back so they won’t get bitten in the scrum!!

If you play without armor and everyone lives, it’s not football…

I watch rugby to see the game. My wife watches it to see the players.

They’re not impersonators. They go to the E.R. a lot.

I assume he’s asking why American gridiron football is more popular than Rugby Union football.

It’s those tight skimpy shorts the ruggers wear….. You know they say, “It takes leather balls to play rugby.”

Isn’t asking Frazz about that topic like asking a gopher about hang gliding?

“E.R.” is short for “Emergency Room.” Frazz is suggesting that rugby players look like the kind of people you see waiting in the emergency room lobby.
