Not sure why Garfield would feel happy on Saturday. It’s the weekend, when you don’t have to work. His ‘work’ consists of eating and sleeping. In that sense he never has a day off.
Just a little story from the 1970s. My first cat Tinker used to love going into the roof space of our house in England because he had worked out how to catch birds trying to roost under the eves.
Tinker was only allowed in there on Saturday mornings, because my Dad was around, the roof space being somewhat unsafe for us kids.
(The birds used to make a mess in there, so my Dad was happy to have them “discouraged”.)
After a while that cat KNEW when it was Saturday morning and would be demanding to be let into his favourite hunting ground, something he didn’t do on any other day.
As I’ve said before, my Monday’s are like other’s Saturday. A day off after all that church work. And, Monday’s is bacon/egg quiche day. Tuesdays, of course, is Bible study/b’fast day, Wednesday is hashbrown/sausage patty day, Thursdays salmon grits day, Friday is oatmeal mush day w/strawberry jam, Saturday is waffles and sausage links day, and Sunday is cheese toast day. I’m definitely a creature of wonderful habits.
I had one of the worst Monday of Mondays and wish I could just go back to bed and start the day over and make it better, but that won’t happen so I sit here crying and hating the whole day and hoping Tuesday is better.

Monday is Monday, Garfield. The universe will keep on sending bad luck your way after all.

It’s not working, Garfield. Your renewed sense of energy isn’t making today any less of a Monday.

Delusion is a major symptom of psychosis. Better get back in you bed and call it a day.

Garfield, there’s a very good chance that you’re only fooling yourself, no matter what day it is.

If he can jump out of bed with renewed hope and energy on a Saturday morning, his Friday nights must be pretty dull.
