Some of us are not built for speed. I can’t outrun a glacier and I’ve lost a race to a sloth. I like turtles and snails for pets.
I forget which sports figure said, “He so slow they need a calendar to measure how fast it takes him to get to first base.”
The fastest I’ve ever run was on my last day at boot camp. I did a mile in 6:28. That was over 50 years ago. Wind back the clock 20 years ago and I was running 5 miles a day in 45 minutes. Today I walk 4.75 miles in and hour and 20 minutes. That’s slightly slower than a galloping sloth.
Eat well or poorly. Gain or lose weight. Walk or run miles. Doesn’t matter. When one reaches the golden years, one enters the age of adjustments. All that went before is so altered as to be only a vague memory and that is rarely as accurate as one might wish.

I remember when the 100 yard dash was used as a measure of speed. But then, I am very old. Lol

“And I still can!”

If there’s a bathroom at the end of the dash.

I use a sundial to time my 100 yard dash……

Now a days, it’s just a 10 yard dash, to the bathroom.

Show off. I could do the 100-yard dash in a day… or two.

And he used to do the four minute mile…when he still had his car (yes, I know this translates to 15mph, turn signal blinking all the way)

When I was in my 20s I also could do the 100-yard dash in 12 minutes. In fact, I rarely used up all 12.
