Certain fish are not supposed to be put in the same tank as others.

Might be hiding under one of the decorations in the bottom of the tank, why don’t you reach in and check?

I once got a ‘Jack Dempsy’ Cichlid, didn’t research it and the store didn’t inform me, it ate a whole school of Neon Tetras in two days. Then got a ‘Green Terror’ that was a bit smaller but they didn’t bother each other. ‘Jack’ got huge in the tank over after a few years. Fish do not stay small in a small tank.

Stick your hand in the tank and you won’t see that either.

Some 25 years ago when we decided to convert our 100-gallon aquarium cum room-divider tank into a thing full of greenery as it was just too much to maintain, we introduced a predator that ate all the other little ones. Funnily enough, the predator died at the end, saving us the trouble. Indigestion?

They’ll be back in a day or two… just not in the form you’re used to.
