Right now, I’m trying to picture in my mind what Leslie’s Mom looks like, and feeling sorry for her actually loving her son. Did that make any sense?

I knew a guy like Les when I was in high school. He was the quarterback and thought he was God’s gift to women. He tried putting the moves on Liz, who was ten inches shorter, about 100lbs lighter, and (germane to the story) lesbian.

Mr. Wonderful said the only reason she was gay was because she hadn’t been with him (this was in the 80s). He groped her – this was in the hallway in front of his hyena buddies. She broke his nose. He got suspended and kicked off the team.

At the 20th reunion, he apologized to her in front of the whole room.

I called Ox also, good to see I was right….. we shall see what happens from now on

“Not Yet” and “I’m not gorgeous”! Perfect lines for the gentle giant!

Too much coincidence – Ox showing up to save Gunther and now Tiffany. Everybody thought of it – seemed too obvious. With respect to Ox and Tiffany becoming an item – gimme a break. No (believable) way for Evans to pull that off.

Uh-oh. The Beauty and the Beast story arc.

Well, Ox could lose a few extra pounds, grow his hair longer and have it professionally styled to suit him, buy some cool clothes and join a speakers group after school hours and……you never know. Sometimes it’s not good looks that wins the girl….it’s that je ne sais quoi that hints at ….je ne sais quoi….the inner mystique. Tiffany likes class and Ox could just be a diamond in the rough. He has the money so he could do whatever it takes……if he liked Tiffany.

Double date plot: Tiff/Ox and Crystal/Knute. Girls get hot and bothered, the guys wander off to play Xbox.

I never thought I’d see the say when Tiffany was actually being sweet for once…:)

Well…even though Ox’s actions in the Weenie World arc weren’t anything to be proud of, at least he’s the white knight today. You know, I like Ox saving Princess Tiffany a little better than Ox saving Squire Gunther, a guy who won’t fight his own battles. So well done Ox, you did good! (Tiffany is so lovely, thanking Ox by way of that compliment:) ))

[flashback!] Midge and Moose all over again …… :P

I’m kind of intrigued by this development…Ox is not dumb. He will see through any shenanigans that Tiffany may get up to- they may even come to respect each other over time. I’m interested to see what develops.

Actually, I think a Tif, Ox relationship has a lot of possibilities. As Wesley_B said, he may not be smart, but he’s wise. And he can probably explain things to Tiff in ways that would make her more interesting as a person.

Enter Ox, exit Knox. And Tiffany actually sees someone outside of herself, at least for a moment. Ox may be too good for Tiff, but there could be a lot of interesting twists to a romantic involvement of these two opposites.

It looks like Tiff might be becoming a multi-dimensional character. This could lead to good things.

THERE – I see Quinn, making a return trip to the states and catching LESLIE in the act, and HITTING HIM like a box-a-rocks! .Thereby, giving LESLIE a new nick-name; { ready for this? } .Box-a-Rocks Knox ! - (goin’ back to my room now ….)

Les needs to lose the Mao jacket, it would make him less creepy!

I’d rather have seen Luann get in Leslie’s face. A little girl power powwow and sisterhood stepup.

Ox and Tiff..makes an interesting and oddly believable pair!

I knew a girl who was very short, so she took up kick boxing. She went out with the captain of the football team. When he went too far, she knocked him out with one punch! At school he was teased, because everybody knew about it!

In this case, Les IS less.

Tiffany is looking for a new makeover project – looks like she found it… but, will he accept the offer?

She maybe smarter but I bet Ox will be teaching Tiff a few lessons on people. How to treat them etc.

By the way, I was one of them who called for Ox to show up.

Poor Les. Ain’t got no game. Seem’s that Ox intimidates him. Also seems that Tiff may be starting a new relationship with someone not much brighter than herself.

Years ago, there was a strip in Orphan Annie that showed Annie on wash day, with dozens of the same red dress like she always wore on the clothes line. I wonder if Ox has dozens of the same jersey. I wonder if Greg thinks we won’t recognize Ox if he isn’t in the jersey.

Aww…too cute. Every girl wants a knight in shining armor. lol

Ox is not dumb.

It’s a salvation window of opportunity for Tiffany. Ox, with his long experience just being Ox, is likely the most grounded of the bunch. He’s immune to Tiffany’s vamping, because he sees too clearly to take it seriously. And he’s had to become too secure in himself to be worried about her snarky habits. And, I suspect, he sees through all that sort of thing and just takes her as she is. And when vamp and snark don’t have any effect, she may have found the first person she’d not afraid of or that she feels she has to make afraid of her. He may not be the one she wants. But he might well be the one she needs.

I went to high school with an Ox. Don was big and ugly and strong, but good natured like Ox. NObody picked on the little guys when Don was around, including teachers.

Ox better watch out or he may get himself a girlfriend out of all this.

Perhaps in return for rescuing her from Leslie, she’ll do a makeover for Ox just like she did for Gunther.

Thank you so much for differentiating between smart and wise! My father is smart and wise. My atheist Spanish teacher is smart and wise in his own conceit. More hope for a fool than for him. Thank God there is abundant hope for a fool.

A little bit of maturity on Tiffany’s part. Could she be growing up a little along with some of the other characters in this strip?

I must say I love this OX fellow. Great character addition to the strip.

OK everybody – It IS a comic. Nevertheless, Greg’s stories usually fly on one level or another. Ox showing up every time somebody’s in trouble seems below par. However maybe Greg has some kind of surprise in store. Maybe Tiffany will repay Ox with a makeover – lose the weight – the clothes – the nickname. Or MAYBE – Tiffany gets down – sweetens up – and becomes like the girl next door.

It’s about time Tiffany found a boyfriend, maybe somebody who could get her to be less shallow? She’s always been a one-dimensional character. Let’s see how she would react to falling in love… and then getting dumped.

Didn’t someone anticipate that Ox would come to the rescue? Spot on prediction!

See where this is going. Ox will fall for Tiff because she’s being nice to him for a day or two. Then she’ll go back to her normal self breaking his heart.

“Ox is getting to be a one-note character”-Oxford told us long ago that he doesn’t like bullies. Complaining is like complaining about police often enforcing laws or fire fighters often fighting fires or teachers often teaching.-We know he does other things, but helping others is worth “reporting”, showing in the strip.

“With his simple mind, Tiffany could mold him to order.”-Which assumes he is simple-minded, facts not in evidence even if some academics are hard for him.

“Okay, Tiff has a possible new guy friend.”-A fellow can be decent and helpful to a lady without intending some romantic attachment. Just consider all the femmes Superdooperman has helped over the years.

So sorry for being so long winded. Just wanted to put some life experiences in.

Honestly Tiffany and ox might work out. He’s big and strong, yet nice and loving
