I thought of this the other day when you said you’d be willing to consider another word other than “humiliation” for Brad. How about “chagrin,” which is specifically “vexation by disappointment or humiliation.” (I’m sure you know the meaning, I’m just being clear as to the exact definition so I can explain my thoughts.) I don’t believe Toni’s proposal was humiliating; however, it is apparent that Brad did feel slightly chagrined, vexed by disappointment more so in this case. So in other words, although he was ecstatically happy about the proposal, at the same time he felt chagrined that the proposal didn’t come from him.

Of course, it’s a lot easier since Brad already knew what her answer would be, but what the heck!

Full of cuteness here. Brad aims to please Shannon AND Toni. All girls rather be proposed even if Toni already beat Brad to it but she must be pleased nonetheless. Now everything is perfect in Shannon’s world.

I think it is dumb. She already asked him. I wouldn’t want a man to propose to me if I had already asked him and he said yes. He just looks like a copycat. Lame.

If I was Toni I would be insulted that Brad apparently forgot that we had already talked about this subject. Not romantic to me at ALL.

I think Toni, being a highly intelligent young woman, understands Shannon put him up to it, and making Shannon happy is an easy choice to make. Besides, it’s a freaking Barbie tiara he put on her finger, not a ring.

Think of it as ‘make the child happy’ and you’ll likely be less irritated. Grownups have done dumber things for children.

Then, you’ll have “a salt and battery”! (I know, I know, bad joke…) ^Nothing illegal about it!… In fact, a local radio station gave us the opportunity to provide a punchline on Facebook when it was then discovered that a relative of a well known popcorn executive got pulled over, and my punchline was if they slapped the officer, they would have been arrested for a salt and buttery! …..

Might be a good place to buy the “Ring, Ring”!^And if she likes the ring, she’ll be saying: oh, “Honey Honey”… and it may cost a lot of “Money Money Money” but, that’s okay….cos “People Need Love”….
