She’s really cute.

I think she has transposed the names of the dogs. Thinking it would be Big Bertha and Little Pixi. If she was to see Jack and Gunther side by side, Gunther would be “Big Guy”, and Jack would be “Tiny”.

Now, WHO are you, Pixi and Bertha’s human mom? Since she is not quite generically drawn, I think she is here to stay.

There was an old tactic back in the 50s that if a guy walking his dog wanted to meet a gal, he’d have his leashed dog “wrap” its leash around the gal’s legs. Then after the apologies, comes the introduction, and eventually a date. I guess it would work for gals, too.

Nevertheless this is a Pretty lady, with a nice personality.

Oh well, so much for “Jack & Luann.”

PS: Don’t FRET. I suspect Jack’s “removal” as a potential “Love Interest” will pave the way for Luann’s “next.” Maybe some new guy in art class.

I know Jack & Luann are not an item – but if Jack doesn’t introduce his friend Luann – he’s the south end of a northbound horse.

Jack is just being a friendly guy.

Oh you guys. We’ve known Jack was friend zoned a long time ago. There is no spark between these two. Methinks this girl is for Jac. I think Luann is destined to never meet her “the one.” Otherwise Luann would be no more. Once she meets her “the one”, the rest of the story will stagnate. We’d already seen Brad and Toni’s romance and we don’t need to go through that again hence the “stagnate” word. Having Luann to keep meeting new guys keeps the strip going.

Well, it worked (in reverse) in Lady and the Tramp.

Well I think G & K have created a little suspense – Where is it going with Jack and the new lady? And can Luann handle being #2 even for few minutes? Suspense was greatly lacking in the recent kitty adoption arc. The scene is picking up…

I don’t think Pixi is a big enough dog to throw that toy into Jack’s lap; so I am not buying that story from blondie. I do hope that Luann will now bring out Puddles so she and this blonde can have a dog-off over Jack. Puddles has way more personality than those two boring dogs and the blonde all put together.

Dogs can usually tell if you’re a dog person.

The term generic was applied to the new blond girl who has the build of a 13 year old, but could also be Zebo’s next model for his naked-people drawing classes. Generic is the dog, Pixie. Puddles is the unique one who sets the standard for this strip.

And another potential boyfriend gets taken. Luann’s gonna be a very lonely lady at this rate.

It looks like we have a potential girl interest for Jack. Tall and fit looking… dog lover (maybe dog walker?). Matches up well with his character

But right now Luann looks like a third wheel. I wonder how GnK will develop her part in the coming week?

Time to butt out Luann. Go get some exercise.

And for the rest of the week we will see Luanns insecurities come through. Even with him being her “Friend” we will hear how everyone finds someone, and she just says, LUANN. I wish she would get over her charley brown complex.

Boring storyline

I think this is a misdirection play, I still think that Jack and Luann are fated (planned) to have a serious relationship at some point. Some have said Quill might come back, which would not necessarily mean that Luann would fall all over for him. She might find that there is this big, strong, caring lunk of a guy that causes her to hold back. Quill might be wanting to get her back, Jack might decide he wants her. One possible, and interesting scenario, but only a muse.

Curious to see if Luann implodes with jealousy here.

Hypergamy illustrated. The vast majority of the women all go for the top 20% of the dudes. They spend their 20s chasing, and probably sending a good man or 3 down the road without the time of day, then suddenly see the wall approaching in their 30s, and wonder where all the good men have gone. Meanwhile, the ones that thy shooed away go younger in their choice of mates, having gotten their personal economies maximized, while many “alphas” are drowning in child-support debt, or worse.

The wall is the undisputed, undefeated champion. Only the top-tier gals will avoid the usual effects of the wall impact, which is being OPPAFF (old, poor, powerless, and forgettably fat).

Perhaps Luann would have better luck if she emulated “Lila” from “The Meaning of Lila” strip?

Amazing the number of Quill comments, even Aaron Hill. And at least one of them was twelve-squared!

Popular as he is, it appears that many of us are ready to ship Jack to somewhere beyond the friend zone!

Me, I could care less. For all those people who complain about the lack of Luann in her own comic strip, well, she really is the most boring character in the strip.

Add dogs, and it gets downright avoidable!

those of you thinking Luann is looking with any kind of annoyed or negative expression, need to stop reading the strip on your phone and display it properly on a larger computer screen.

While everyone here cackles with glee over Luann’s supposed jealousy fit, many of in Hurricane Alley are intent on the next possible Real World problem: Hurricane Karen (no joke)

Hmm…. this new female is pleasant and her two dogs…. cute. For me, the fact that she named her dogs in ways against stereotype makes her likely a fun, creative person to be around. It would be nice and interesting for her to be a returning character, IMO.

Luann’s observations of this interaction…. that is, likely, the part we are supposed to be focused upon, I guess. For today, she seems simply to be observing. Perhaps she is a little bemused about the interaction between the two humans or perhaps about the names of the dogs…. but overall, I think she is just observing.

While I still get the “vibe” that Greg may be making an arc where either Luann becomes aware of feelings for Jack or an arc about Luann feeling some aspect of jealousy….. I am hoping Greg surprises us by also not going down this somewhat predictable route. I am still a firm believer that Luann is really better off at the moment not focused on “relationships” but more on who she is, who she wants to be, and what she wants to focus on in terms of her own growth and development.

Hmmm… challenge. Will it be accepted?

OK, so here’s a potential date that has fallen into Jack’s lap, and right now I don’t see Luann displaying jealousy. She’s just observing; she gets to see Jack in action. Right now it seems Jack is more enamored with Pixi than his owner. But it’s only tuesday.

“This? This is … uh … what’d you say you’re name was, Sweetie.” And …. Luann just became chopped liver.

Every morning, he smears his face with Fresh Bacon Grease before he leaves the house.

Here’s a trick for some of you. Read the dialogue out loud to yourself with a stop watch, in a normal cadence. Then look at the situation and keep in mind that BEFORE Jack could say anything about LUANN, the dog was licking his face and ( GASP!) he was reacting to that. Poor LUANN she is thrown over for this tart with her 2-dog ploy. She saw JACK naked in art class and decided to plot a long-term plan to nail her big dumb stud in a desperate need to validate her femininity.

You will notice that Luann is now out of the picture (literally)….

Jack is comfortable with animals; he loves dogs and they sense that. Unlike humans, animals are non-judgmental. Food and love is all they need. Humans require more effort to maintain the relationship. I believe Jack is interested in Luann but it’s a more difficult nut to crack and I believe he’s being patient in order to get it right. With dogs, he gets it right all the time and there’s no effort.

Hope Luann stay in the story line.

I am seeing so many “art” and “stage” and “fame seeker” connections….LuAnn doing the TA in art class, Gunther costume designs, Tiffany the actress, Bets all knowing on cosplay and ebay , Pru is actress, Toni’s brother signs to do a gig at the fuse. Gotta be a connect to Ann Awful somewhere along the way, bringing it all together. (The famous lingeree as costume props/ where it came from? Everyone mentions the parties and off we go.) LuAnn falls for the policeman that arrests Ann.

In the meantime, Gunther is being seduced. Tiffany would like to seduce Gunther, as a safe place to practice, (like the bunny hill) before she’s ready to go for the gold. Bernice is in danger of experiencing atrophy if she doesn’t get a little action. And, last but not least, Greg is planning a surprise birthday gathering. for Luann
