To be honest, I am a little surprised Ann Eiffel considers a trip to a remote cabin to be very romantic. He’s not going to spend money on her if she’s some place where they can’t go shopping.
Maybe Tom needs to be shown all the strips that Ann Eifel has been in so he can see exactly what she is, how she treats people, and all her schemes. I am so sick of this woman! What’s really sad is there are a lot of people like her in the real world.
When Ann was bragging about her romantic plans, Tiff should have attempted a quick getaway – saying something like, “That sounds very nice, Ann – I’m going to my room to get my things in order.” Instead, Tiffany set herself up for Ann’s incredibly nasty last line.
While Ann is away, maybe Tiffany can find some sort of evidence in the house to show her father what Ann is really like. Now would be a great time to look under the mattress.
So did Ann release the housekeepers and expects Tiffany to replace them so they could save money for their “romantic adventure?” Nah. More likely to humiliate her. She tells Tom “Save money on house staff. Tiffany can do it. She works at The Fuse so she can do what our house staff does.” So Tom bought her idea unknowingly that her real agenda is humiliation.
So Tiffany gets the house temporarily while Ann gets to continually remind Tiffany in the most insulting ways how unimportant she is to her father, while Ann is far more important. I mean she will have him all to herself, alone, while Tiffany is just an afterthought. Plus Tiffany is a server at the Fuse, and may be failing if not flunking out of Mooney U. What next? Looks bleak for our girl, maybe.
Tiffany should follow Cinderella’s example here: https://image-descriptions.tumblr.com/post/132161493803/emmyc-some-disney-comics-i-made-for-a-mini-zine/amp
Now that Nancy knows how Ann treats Tiffany, I wonder why she doesn’t offer her the room that what’s her name left. Maybe if Tiffany stopped trying so hard to get her father to see Ann for what she is, he might come around on his own.
I agree with poster jeapkrhr….this arc it too painful to keep reading. Call me when Ann is gone like the wind.
As much as I hate Ann, I have ZERO respect for Tom! He’s not a teenager; can he really NOT SEE what a terrible person Ann is? And how can he treat his daughter this way? I’m married for the second time and my husband’s ADULT daughters are pampered as though they were little girls. And I have NO SAY in this. As it should be. Tom is an idiot.
Look at how disgusted Tiffany is when Ann touches her shoulders. Ann has a lot of fun annoying her. Probably if Tiffany hadn’t stopped her, Ann would have made a long and detailed description of what Tom and she will do in that cabin. Stay strong, Tiffany. For weeks them will be far away.
So a slight inconsistency here. Some of you will of course disagree with me, but some of you may! Now seeing Tiffany’s wealth, she would have never, in the real world, been a the same high school as Luann. She would have been put up in some elite prep private school – I know there are children of wealthy children in public schools, but her own chef, tortellini named after her? She’s Choate material.
If I had a house sitter I would expect them to keep everything tidy and picked up – but that would be AFTER we had left. Are we supposed to believe that Tom and Ann don’t have maids?
Tiffany shouldn’t have to do a long list of household chores and projects to housesit. If she does, she should get paid. If she is given a list, she should just ignore it. She has the luxury of using the mansion for a week or two. What are they going to do to her?
OMG! She was one a beautiful princess, now reduced to the role of scullery maid. Doomed to living a lonely life in a bleak castle with an (emotionally) absent father and an evil step mother.
Tiffany IS Cinderella!
All we’re missing is two step sisters and then the handsome prince!
And as expected there’s a “list.” So Ann kept the cook but dismissed the maid(s) just to rub Tiffany’s face in DIRT by making her do housework? What a surprise! (Rolls eyes) I guess Ann expects Tiffany to clean the house, wash the windows and cut the grass too, huh?
Gee. Tiffany is going to need “help.” An emergency call to America’s dishwasher Les, in 3….2….1……,
Unless G&K surprises Me and Tiff calls Ox. Nah. I’m dreaming, again.
One thing for darn sure. If Ann expects Tiff to do ALL the housework if she moves back home, then Tiffany WON’T be moving back home as I had hoped.
That empty room at the DeGroot house may get filled after all.
Time Tiff stood up to Ann and call a spade a spade, and do it with her father watching. The way it is, Greg will NEVER bring this “Ann” arc to any sort of conclusion. As my dad said “Either do it, or get the hell out of the way for someone who will.”
Honestly Ann is setting up Tiffany to take revenge and when she does it will be enough for her to go to Tom and get her disowned. I hope Tiffany finds incriminating evidence on Ann instead.
Is this where Greg steps in and saves his girl from further humiliation? Judging from panel 3, and Tiff’s beaten down attitude, I doubt it. Will Tiff ever stop paying for the sins of her previous, self-centered, sexy days? Not in the foreseeable future. Greg has tossed in his cards for a hand full of jokers, and that’s that.
Tiff needs to sit down and have a wonderful shrimp dinner. When she is done, she needs to put the shrimp tails inside all the curtain rods in the house. (anchovies work well also)
We forget Ann did get what she deserved at the Fuse so there could be more on the way. But Tiff is missing out on some better comebacks right now. Ann probably has cleaning and vacuuming on her list. Being asked to take on the role of housekeeper will hopefully prompt Tiff to find other digs and come to appreciate apartments and small houses. The bigger the house the more work it is to take care of.
Unfortunately, Tiffany is stuck. She can’t just refuse because then Ann will kick her out and she has nowhere else to go.
And did Tiffany drop out of college? In the strip yesterday she said she had to get out of her dorm room. So she isn’t rooming with the ditz cheerleader any more?
Tiff should just play the hurt little daughter card to her dad. If she runs in crying, and everyone knows she can turn on the waterworks in a heartbeat, and wails “She treats me like a servant. I’m nothing but a Cinderella to her.” Maybe dad will listen for once? But honestly I won’t hold my breath. Ann is nothing but a gold digging B!!!H.
I thought that woman was out the door three times! Send her on her way with her dear Snooks! She’s just hanging around to dump on Tiff. What will she do if Tiff doesn’t complete “the list”? Fire her? Disown her! Ha! I can see Tiff complaining at the Fuse now, but what will the reactions be? Les? TJ? §;-o
Tiff! Ann left her self open, stick the knife in and give it a good twist.
“I work there and get paid and get tips. I’ll be happy clear the table, my rate is $x.xx and I expect a generous tip. Any tip less than 20% is a cheap skate. And, while we are talking money, I checked around the average rate for house sitting is $x.xx/day. I’ll give you and Tom (he no longer rates being called dad) the Family Rate of $x.xx/day. That is only for sitting, any additional work or chores will be billed at $x.xx/hour rounded to the next quarter hour. This is non-negationable. Talk to Tom, if this is not acceptable, I return to the dorm and you and Tom can get someone else.
I’ll leave the contract here for yours and Tom’s review. Please have it signed and notarized before you and Tom leave. " (You can download a contract off the internet)
Looking closer to that last panel, Tiff seems to be eyeing Ann’s hand on her shoulder. Maybe, just maybe, she’ll have a comeback tomorrow? Oh, the suspense! §;-D
This particular treatment of Tiffany by Anne actually bothers me alot more than I would expect. The fact that Tiffany’s dad would condone this ultimate disrespect of his daughter is very sad. Treating her as the maid, wow. I hope Greg finally wraps up this long and depressing arc with Anne soon. It’s served its purpose of giving Tiffany a taste of her own medicine and helping her to mature. Now it’s becoming distasteful to constantly see such a clear villain always being cruel and getting away with everything.
So, which of these things DOESN’T happen when they get back:(a) Ann yells at Tiffany for not doing a bunch of things that were not on the list, but are on Ann’s “copy” of the list;(b) Tiffany’s father notices something is missing; of course, Ann took it, and accuses Tiffany
Hmm. So, Annie leaves the house in a mess before she and Tom “Cat” saunter away? That is low, even for Ann.
So, perhaps then, Annie has also (besides taken the Chef to the vacation destination) probably given the lawn care/gardener his/her vacation (so Tiffany can do the lawn and such), given the maids their vacation (so TIffany can do all the cleaning), and given the dog walkers their vacation time (so Tiffany is continually either walking the dogs or cleaning up doo-doo or both).
What other common chore items would Tom “Cat” likely hire out that I am missing? Whatever they are, probably Annie has given them all “vacation” too…. just to keep Tiffany “occupied”.
* * * *
For me, the real fun will be to see how and in what way Tiffany will behave once Annie and Tom are out the door.
Can we have a moment where her father really sees who and what that person really is… And then Tiffany can either have a repaired relationship with him, or wash her hands of him?
Ann is really laying it on thick. She’s sure going about it the wrong way if she wants any kind of relationship with Tiffany at all. I’m sure she only wants to play the wicked stepmother and lord it over her and try to break her spirit once and for all. Sad. I didn’t like the old mean girl Tiffany and I have a feeling she hasn’t learned all that much since Ann took over but she has made some progress. No one should be treated this way. I hope Tiffany finds a way to send her packing and I hope Tiffany also continues to grow into a nicer person. We’ve seen little glimpses into it. In a way this is all her Dad’s fault. He raised her to be a teenage monster and he seems to love Ann being the same way. Weird huh?
Tiffany – two things 1) Tell her now – don’t ever touch me again!!!!!! 2) Once they are gone, take some time and make some plans to never be in a situation where you have to come home again. You won’t change Dad (Ann can do no wrong in his eyes), and Evil Ann will be goldbricking off of him until he dies or she dies. If he dies first, she’ll have the will written to where she gets everything and you get nothing. This won’t be easy, but this is the only way you are going to get out for good.
Okay, that is fricking ENOUGH! GnK, if you’re reading this, stop it. Just stop it, okay? The world is on fire around us. People are dying every day. And to see Tiffany being treated like this EVERY LOUSY DAY is enough. It’s just enough, okay? Have Tiff slap the shit out of this woman or something. I’m sick of looking at Tiff like she’s a doormat. Ann is a BULLY, and all bullies crumble when they’re stood up to. So, just stop it. I really don’t think I can take anymore.
There’s a difference between a server and a servant. Plus, Tiffany gets paid for her work at The Fuse. While Tiffany is house-sitting, she can be reasonably expected to clear away and wash her own dishes (as well as prepare her own food) while her dad and Miss Icepick are away, but she shouldn’t have to clean up the messes of others.

Awful Annie fired the Maid and redirected her Paycheck to Awful Annie’s bank account.

This has to stop. I can’t take the abuse and denigration of Tiff anymore.

Those dishes will be there when she returns to the house if I was Tiffany.

No glum-face, Tiff! Surely you can come up with a suitable come-back for the witch-[2nd letter of alphabet]itch?

Wow, Ann just told Tiffany “yes, you ARE my servant.” Can she get anymore condescending…..oh wait, this is Ann—-yes, she can.

I’d rather live on someone’s couch than in a mansion with that witch

There’s a difference between a server and a servant. Plus, Tiffany gets paid for her work at The Fuse. While Tiffany is house-sitting, she can be reasonably expected to clear away and wash her own dishes (as well as prepare her own food) while her dad and Miss Icepick are away, but she shouldn’t have to clean up the messes of others.

As long as Ann provides “special time” to Tom, she not going anywhere.
I’m betting she’s scrapping some of his money off the top or just getting him buy more items for her. Either way, he’s still fine with it.Cstimpy25 over 4 years ago
