Okay, so it’s not the ring’s “Kippiness” that Stef misses. It’s the proof of fidelity. Kip has asked the million-dollar question: why did Stef take off a ring that was supposed to signal that she was unavailable for dating non-Kip people?

First Puddles went missing, now it’s Kip’s ring. Two high powered mysteries in the same year. Starting to remind me of those old radio mysteries with organ music for dramatic effect, and 20 mule team Borax as the sponsor.

Kip: “No, stef, it’s YOUR fault for packing it up. I thought that ring meant so much to you. I guess it doesn’t.”

Luckily Kip seems to be able to see what’s really important. Maybe this will be the last straw and he will breakup with Stef, who will take revenge on Tiffany… But if Kip is able to forgive her again, let’s hope he won’t support her theory that it’s all Tiffany’s fault. But in that case Ox could intervene against his old friend to defend her. That would be interesting.

Looks like Kip is upset HIS ring is not anywhere on Stef to begin with. Stef is trying to change the subject from NOT having the ring to blaming someone else for it being missing. Remember, these two were having problems when we first met them.

We all figured this was where it was going to go, but I’m honestly surprised we’re seeing so much of Stef in outfits other than the cheer leading uniform…

Kip wants to know why his ring was packed away and she says forget about that. Bet he won’t.

I think we’re just supposed to willfully suspend our disbelief related to the preceding practical existence of Kip’s ring and concentrate on the fact that Stef didn’t want to wear Kip’s ring at dance camp so it wouldn’t discourage any suitable boinkees-which is very likely to occur to Kip.

Not sure where the big full moon in panel two came from, but is Kip going to actually believe that his class ring was stolen? Or is he sensible enough to guess it may be misplaced? I would love it if he suggests they look for it, they find it, and he forces Steffi to apologize to everyone. That would be great.

I didn’t think Kip took it back. Les didn’t take it either. Stef probably misplaced it but she can’t admit she is wrong about anything.

OK, my college was a place where they had summer cheerleader camp and my experience was that many of the cheerleaders were hitting on a lot of summer semester students and Stef packed away his class ring for the time she was at Cheerleader camp. Yeah, not a good look.

So, Kip asks the question we should’ve asked: why was the important ring treated so unimportantly by Tiff?

Well obviously Kip did NOT steal his own ring back! However, he seems genuinely ticked off that it is gone and Stef’s attitude here just may make him break up with her. He knows her “theory “ of theft makes no sense. I still think the ring will turn up soon. Stef will discover it but still blame Tiffany, claiming she must have secretly put it back among Stef’s stuff. If I were Tiffany I’d bail on this nasty roommate ! Either go home or find a new roommate. Preferably not a hysterical cheerleader.

Kip has had doubts about Stef for some time, but not enough to cause a break-up. This might be, but since we are following the strip creators and they are famous for plot twists, or as I like to say, misdirection plays, hold onto your pants, it will be wild, or maybe not. I’m just going to sit back and see. 90% chance this continues next week.

Can’t you just keep your overanalyzation tendencies in check for a second and maybe think that Kip gave Stef the ring too recently for it to have appeared in past comics? And that she didn’t take it to camp precicely so she wouldn’t lose it there? I actually did lose a ring once in PE class because I had to take it off during gymnastics. And if you don’t like how loosely the story is plotted, there are plently of other comics for you to read!
