If Stef was smart… she would start apologizing profusely to all of them. Then she would take Kip’s hand off of Tiff’s arm and say to Tiff.. “Go ahead, I deserve it for how badly I treated you all”, and see what happens.

Stefani owes everyone an apology.

My guess is that the rug isn’t Steff’s and she has pinched it…

Bets says what we’re all thinking. I’m also starting to like her more and more. Again as I went into detail with yesterday, I don’t WANT Tiff to hit Stef.. but it’s only because Tiff’s already won and Stef could press charges and at the time Tiff tried decking her, there was only one witness who would clearly be 100% honest. This strip backs that up as now Dez and Bets BOTH know that Stef clearly didn’t search the room, have video evidence of Stef’s tirade, and the testimony of four people. She might still escape actually getting say kicked out of the dorms or suspended or anything that’d really hit her hard (as either would likely threaten her place as a cheerleader, aka her whole identity), but at the very least not hitting her gives us the CHANCE Stef gets what’s coming to her and if nothing else gets her out of Tiffany’s room.

Why would Kip try to change Stef? All the cookies are there for him and Stef even provides the privacy.

Gotta admit she does have it coming.

This looks like the perfect time for the three friends to tell Stef that she’s no longer welcome and must leave the room immediately. I don’t know if Kip will be able to save his girlfriend to the right anger once again, but let’s see.

Imagine this: Stef gets kicked out of the dorm, then disappears. Later on, she resurfaces… A bit of mayhem ensues… a dark shadowy figure is occasionally seen giving Stef instructions in running some scam…although we can’t see who it is yet… after a time, we finally get to see the shape of the head/hair….it turns out to be Ann Eiffel..

it’s going to be ridiculous if this doesn’t end with them all kicking Stef out. Enough is enough.

By the way, how did the ring get UNDER the rug? That would only be possible if the rug was put down after the ring was dropped.

I’m a complete pacifist but even I think Stef deserves a good slap across the face. (As do all such creatures, who are incapable of apologizing nomatter what.) But I already thought that before this whole arc. But actual violence such as punching should only be used if necessary for self defense. You don’t go around punching people just because they pee you off. OTOH I get how much self control it would take to avoid an urge to punch the likes of miss Steffi.

I’ll say it again. Prepare yourselves for a conclusion to this story that goes absolutely nowhere. No apologies, no eviction, no break-up, no vindication, no resolution.

At least Bets and Dez are calling bs on her lame story. There’s no way the ring got under that rug by itself. The truth of the matter is she stashed it away so she could be single at dance camp, it wasn’t where she first looked for it so she freaked out, then she found it and hid it under a rug so she could pretend to find it. I don’t see how they don’t get it, I see it and I’m not even a cartoon.

Only two days left until the weekend (and it likely moves on to a new storyarc, as this one has gone on for weeks now.) What are the chances we’ll see some actual satisfaction in the next two days?

Betts, you’re my girl. But, really, Tiff punching out Stef would just land Tiff in civil court as Stef attempts to be the one exacting her revenge. It’s best to let the other roommates ostracize Stef for a time to teach her a lesson without coming to blows.

Kip is complicit if he doesn’t leave Stef after this. He will prove he has sunk to her level. Go now Kip or be a rat, too!

Well, Bets has made her opinion known. Can’t say I blame her. I’d be tempted to hit Stef, too, and I’m not a violent person. In fact, I try to avoid being confrontational as much as possible. Wanna bet Dez, Tiff and Bets will ask Steff to find other roommates?

As for Kip, he will defend Steff, no matter what she does. He knows how she is, they’ve been dating for a long time. If he doesn’t see what she’s like by now, he never will.

I think most readers will be happy with Kip by the end of this week. Give him a chance to say what he has to say.

How did it get under the rug in the first place? I imagine they didn’t take the rug when they left since they weren’t losing the dorm to other students.

You may recall that the last time the roommates were angry at Staff’s behavior, Kip played on their sympathies by pleading how her actions were a result of her insecurities. Then everyone felt bad, offered sympathy and made concessions for her, in general sang kumbiyah. I kind of expect him to do this again. It doesn’t make him a nice guy, a hero or a protector. It makes him an enabler and a manipulator. Having pressures or insecurities, or coming from a disadvantaged background, is not justification for bad behavior, nor should it be a get out of jail free card. Kip has never been bothered by his girlfriend’s actions, as the towel incident proved.

Interestingly, even though Steffi is away from Tiff, Kippy is still holding onto her arm all the way into the last panel. Perhaps he is savoring the feel of Tiff instead of Steffi…

It’s hard to imagine how a ring could get under a rug unless it was put there. Presumably the rugs are laid down and a ring could fall on the floor and land on the rug. But under the rug?…..I don’t get that. Why would anyone lay a rug down on top of some jewelry that they can clearly see?

You know, I almost find myself siding with Bets, then I get the feeling that it’s another one of her scams; egg them on, get them to fight, then video record it for her … “Fans”.

First time I’ve agreed with Bets! Generally I would say that no one has a right to strike someone except in self defense, but heck, this is a comic strip and Steff is THE most ANNOYING character. Smack ’er one for me!

I have a suspicion that Bets will have more of a role to play in this.
