Why should Bernice care if it turns out to be a romance story? I thought Nancy and her enjoyed that kind of stuff??

It’s funny how Bernice seems a little jealous when she supposedly lost all interest in him. Luann is definitely interested in her brooding mystery man.

So does this wrap here, for the time being, or go on into Monday?

For cryin’ out loud, Bernice, it was just a writing assignment and Luann just happened to come across Piro face to face.

Instead of a romance novel it looks like were tuning up for a one of the great American trajectories!

They once were best of friends, but then a dark and mysterious man entered their lives. A man with a hidden past, a man of smouldering passions, a man cloaked in the alias Piro.

I may be wrong, but I think Bernice still has something for Piro. She is putting on like she isn’t

Oh, boy!

Bernice it’s a writing assignment not some love story from one of your trashy romance novels.

As predicted, Luann has got a thirst for a mystery man and Bernice seems a bit jealous.

This would be about the time for G&K to switch to another story. Not exactly a cliff-hanger; more a muddle of confusion.

“Yeah, I have to write 500 words about his broody mystique.”

Is that what the kids call it nowadays?

BTW, it appears that Monstro has just about outgrown that tank.

I hope we are greeting Luann at the beginning of a great career. Write about what you know, dear.

Leave Luann alone, Bernice. You felt nothing when Piro finally kissed you, you don’t miss him, and he has gone on with his life — or is trying to. Let Luann observe what she wants and write what she wants. Back off.

I don’t think G & K are ready to get Luann’s feet wet yet – but if so – bring it!

Bernice is jealous suprising no one including the mounting hedache from this. Like Bern.. your in a comitted relationship, you felt no sparks and you forgot this guy existed till the moment he came up. Luann by contrast hasn’t dated anyone in a year minimum in universe, and seems actually intrested in a guy for the first time in a while. Let her have this.

Bernice is at least a little worried about Piro, but like an old friend who is tired of worrying about someone who is always in trouble and doesn’t want to be involved anymore. Luann finds him very fascinating… I hope this story with Luann, Piro and the others will come back for Valentine’s Day and be a great romantic story, full of misunderstandings and with Piro’s backstory.

Never date a friends’ ex.

From the beginning of Bernice in this arc, and it’s the absolutely clear, for those who follow the story, not just their personal like or dislike if a character, that Bernice is feigning lack of interest in Piro, while that cauldron in her is burning away, while Luann’s interest is more than just writing a romance story or “memoir”? Please! That panel two is classic posing from each characters particularly personal point of view, on Piro (keep your eyes on the hunky ball here, I advise)while panel three is classic GnK suggestion. It can be interpreted in different ways by different viewers, but to me all I can say is FASTEN YOUR SEAT BELTS!

Why should you care, B? You gonna tell Luann “don’t bother, his kiss is blah”?

Tomorrow will have an interlude with the much beloved character of Shanon. Perhaps she can burn another sofa or pour cement down the toilet.

“was there conflict, tension?” was the question posed by Mrs. Horner? There is about to be. Yes, there is and you know it Xlax. If this arc shifts Monday, there would be a revolt by Luann readers. This too delicious to let it drop. Next Bets and Gun(ther), and gasp! A jealous Bets!

Ann Eiffel’s broody mystiques gets them every time. It is what is called… come hither sexy. Eat your hearts out, haters. Ann Eiffel is screaming hawt and you know it.

I hope that this is the beginning of Luann truly developing her writing talent and career.

So, despite reading and enjoying bodice-ripping romance novels with Luann’s mom, now Bernice is dissing Luann for writing in that style?

Go ahead roll your eyes, Bernice. But from your self edited first statement, your eyes might be turning a shade of green.

Spoiler Alert: Pyro is a serial killer.

Piro didn’t ask Luann anything about her. He’s not in the least interested. He prefers Bernice’s cold, clinical vibe.

Wasn’t it you who convinced Luann to write love stories, Bernice?

Bernice has no one but herself and Mom DeGroot to blame for turning Luann on to romance novels.

Luann can’t help it if she’s a hopeless….no, HOPEFUL romantic.

Jealousy, they name is Bernice.

I think we will see Piro re-connect with Tiffany if this story continues next week. She was his friend and protected his “secret” when he was at Muni.

When will Luann tell Bernice about Mrs. Horner?

It almost seems as though these girls have a one-track mind about romance in this arc . . . but then again, I suppose they are at that age where it’s something they have desires for.

Luann does appear to be infatuated with Piro.

Eyes up and to the right. Bernice is remembering her feelings about Piro.It’s a wonder Luann noticed his eyes with her surprise and all the questions. Here comes the conflict and stress she omitted from her paper. =:-o

If this were the early eighteen hundreds, I would say Luann seems smitten.

Weird how Bernice has more going on romantically than her friends. Jack, Nil, Piro.

The issue here is that Piro is evidently somewhat mentally ill and not able to maintain a coherent life situation. That is not an ideal boyfriend situation for women to deal with romantically, even though Piro seems like a nice, if irrational, person otherwise. Speaking as somebody who used to have severe personal problems with mental illness.

Gold fleck in the eye? Is that a real thing? Or is Luann seeing the gleam of her future child?
