Looks like the essay reading will be coming up next. I’m guessing something will happen during their readings… maybe he sees Bernice?

Bets and Gunther would be wise to be there. It’s a no-brainer for her to go live at the Fair, and show her fans all the fun attractions… maybe even some cosplay?

I still think they ALL should go to Mooney Uni. It would make for far more exciting story arcs.. just like when they all went to the same HS.

“Performance anxiety” means one thing to Dez and another to Piro! As someone else says, ‘Hilarity ensues’…

It’s good to see Dez talking to Piro and explaining what he scared of and how Dez can help him.

Well Dang! Dez tried to take the conversation somewhere interesting – but noooo…

Is that a motherly, “hon” Dez is using with Piro, or the hint of a more personal interest?

Why do i still follow this?

Dez cares about people. Not so self-centered as a majority of the characters. Knute tended that way, too.

I’m sure that Bernice would love to hear, and put her interpretation of the words “performance anxiety” and Luanne, and then go full gossip about “the situation”.After all, she IS a ‘trained’ counselor, read, gossip.

Piro, just imagine that the entire audience is stark naked. Either you’ll laugh or throw up.

Well, we’ve had PG strips before.

So what are we to take away from this strip? Piro can open up to Dez? Dez “sees” something between Piro and Luann? An attraction?

Perhaps it’s laying the groundwork for more revelations from Piro!

Was Dez goiing there when Piro mentioned “performance issues” with Luann? I think one of her teas hels with that.

They’re doing “a reading” together? I guess I was mistaken I thought that Luann and Piro were doing separate readings. So will he be reciting lines from his story about his troubled childhood while Luann makes inappropriately humorous asides to punctuate the trauma?

interesting that dez knows luann-they don’t go to the same school and only share a handful of acquaintances.

Even Dez immediately thought Piro and Luann were together, but Piro doesn’t seem to think so. Actually, Piro seems to feel inferior to Luann, probably due to her ability to talk with everyone and to make them laugh. He’s afraid to make a bad impression compared to her. Maybe he’s even afraid to disappointing her ruining their reading! As complicated as it is, I love to see how much he thinks highly of Luann, but he needs to overcome this fear. Maybe Dez will be able to advise him about what to do, or to get him to talk to Luann about this, or maybe being able to finally explain himself to Bernice would give him the necessary calm.

Piro has stage fright?

Whoa Dez, easy! If you’re thinking what I think you’re thinking, you might need to balance out your Svadhisthana chakra.

Reading on stage is scary! And no, pretending the audience is naked does not actually help.

Oops, Dez. I wonder how much of his story mentions Bernice. If she’s there, will she be touched, embarrassed or angry (with herself?). Make a full pot of tea; everyone will need some! =8>o

Dez is great at getting Walt/Piro to relax a bit, and the drawing of their conversation is excellent, especially if Walt/Piro’s facial expressions are closely observed. I’m referring to panel 3, particularly, after the performance anxiety crack in Panel 2 (IMHO, the punch line panel actually), Walt/Piro seems to have a serious expression suddenly, which portends, what? If anything?

Dez doesn’t know Luann well if she thinks there is a possibility of sex with Piro…or anyone…ever.

How does he keep the perfect star in his hair? He would have to spray the hair around it every day and Piro does not seem like the type to do that much daily work.

Poor Piro, everyone here (even Dez) is trying to pair him with some girl; he doesn’t want this, it seems. He just wants to get his sea legs (in life).

I wonder if Piro has some kind of drug problem. He always looks kind of strung out and he looks a little rougher than he did back when he was crashing in Dez and Berniece’s dorm room. Maybe that’s why everyone keeps waving Luann off.

Overall I have grown comfortable with both Pitt CC and Moony U as constructs here. I figure eventually someday all or many of the Pitt CC folks will find there way to Moony U.

Overall, I wish more classroom focused panels would be shown. They have generally been quite enjoyable. Unfortunately, the lion’s share of these classroom arcs have only examined Pitt CC classrooms. I like them, but would also enjoy some more Moony U. ones.

As far as Piro and Dez today….. I am taking it more at face value…. banter and dialogue….. nothing much else….. but perhaps segueing into a more substantial set of panels tomorrow.

“Stage fright” might have been a more readily understood idiom, Piro. But I guess “performance anxiety” has more humor value for the Evanses….

Well did that reference change meaning.
