Buy a clue, Bernice!

This is starting to feel like those slow early episodes of SEINFELD where the show really did feel like it was about nothing.

Could it be that Mom is starting to get tired of Bernice’s freeloading?

Nancy actually doesn’t seem to mind and is amused. She reads Bernice well. She knows she is the one who needs a break and herself not so much. She lost interest as soon as she realized Luann wasn’t going to join her. I believe Nancy will join in and finish the puzzle with Bernice.

I think this joke has gone on long enough. Just saying.

Nancy is either trying to give Bernice a clue about reading the room…or she perceives that Bernice is avoiding schoolwork and is stressed out about something…

Don’t let Nancy get hold of the meat cleaver or they’ll be call Bernice “ol’ nine fingers.”

Nancy should just go out, see a movie, and take herself out to dinner.

Bernice needs to go back to Nil?

Hey Nancy.

Wanna bring Bernie back to reality, ask her if her brother and kids are still staying in Bern’s room and for how much longer? ;-)

I usually am impatient with all the bBernice hate, even in arcs where she isn’t appearing. But this one…well, it seems Nancy is gently tweaking Bernice’s autonomic response to get her to jump up and go find her books and leave Nancy alone to let her mind wander.

This reminds me of when I was a kid and I would get a paint-by-numbers kit as a present; my mother would take it and do the painting herself—and then brag about it! Well, eventually, I learned to paint without numbers—something she couldn’t do!

Different strokes for different folks so the old saying goes. That is not quite applicable here as wise Nancy, arguably thr most grounded character in the strip observes a young unaware near genius like Bern. I dontt think the self-awareness or lack of awareness of the existence of Nancy is the really the point of this arc though.

What’s stopping Mrs. Luann from coming out and telling Bernice that she’d like to do the puzzle by herself?

Just say it, Nancy. “Bernice, GO AWAY.”

“It’s too bad you can’t stay longer, Bernice.” (pause) “I SAID, ‘You can’t stay longer’!”

Oh, Bernice. If you want to be a therapist, you need to start to pay attention to people.

Just get up and leave, Nancy. Bernice is so overbearing.

did we really need an arc to make Bernice more unlikeable?

Bernice needs to work on her people skills. She’s so out of touch.

Well… its better than a week useLes trying to fix a toilet.

The puzzle will never be completed because Bernice doesn’t have the clue.

No wonder Bernice, and, Luann are best friends. They both are oblivious to what others are hinting at.

Bernice seems to be exhibiting some major OCD or, more likely, ADHD in this strip. Get that woman some Adderall!!! Better living through Chemistry….

Bernice doesn’t seem to want to talk about how her studies are going, I hope Nancy can get her to say something. I’ve been thinking for a long time that Bernice, despite her intelligence, is not doing well in college because she doesn’t have the empathy necessary to be a physiologist, or she feels uncomfortable in psychology but doesn’t want to face the fact. Maybe she could do it with Nancy, her ideal caring mother.

B needs a little more disconnecting.

“Handles” and “openings”? No, they are outies and innies.

When you sort all the pieces you turn them over and separate the edge pieces at the same time. You don’t turn them all over, then separate the edge pieces.

You might as well give up your seat and let Bernice just take over the puzzle. Sheeesh.

Bernice’s inconsiderate attitude of taking over without asking is typical of many today.

Oh, you’re so WISE, Nancy. Bleah.

Predictable, at least it gives the “In Crowd” a chance to be snarky about Bernice, which is really the point right ??? ;-)

A Gen-Z gal for sure! She’ll need to pull out her smart phone soon to find out where she is.

Bernice is definitely disconnected from what’s going on around her.

Nancy is more amused, or bemused, with Bernice’s obliviousness to her situation and, I think, to the fact that Bernie chose an occupation in an area she herself would greatly benefit from.. incidentally she may quit when she learns that she will inevitably be required to go to therapy as therapy can help therapists improve their self-awareness, which is the ability to recognize and understand their own emotions, thoughts and behavior if this was real life . Bernice has some pretty deep scars she masks with her know it all narcissistic facade.

And people call Luann selfish and clueless. In this strip, Bernice is being just as selfish and clueless as Luann ever was.

Nancy just wanted some quiet time alone, to work on the puzzle in her own way, at her own pace, then Bernice showed up. Instead of taking Nancy’s hint that she should go back to studying and leave Nancy alone, Bernice is all:

“Oh. I need a break. I need some down time. Here! Find the edge pieces! Group these colors together! I’ll just stay here and give you orders on how to solve this puzzle. Won’t that be fun?”

I’m sure Bernice will get a great deal of enjoyment out of it, but I doubt Nancy will. I agree with whoever said Nancy should just get up and walk away.

You can take it apart after she finishes.

When I help my wife with a puzzle she claims the pieces don’t fit quite right.

Timeout? More like a power blackout

1st, I’ve never heard them called handles and openings. I call them innies and outies. :) 2nd, how can you divide them when many pieces have both? 3rd, I hope Nancy can get her puzzle back.
