FANTASTIC!!! Thanks, Guy! Yay, there’s Little Dot, and OMG, Momma! I LOVED that strip. And another appearance of Mighty Mouse, be still my heart :-D <3 Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
Oh, that ‘spains this whole thing. I was wondering why Oona didn’t know much about this either. That was really good, except shouldn’t this have been done in January? Unless November was the month Nancy became a separate comic. I may want to look that up.
It’s fascinating how two of my favorite comics differ. Nancy never seems to age, but Gasoline Alley is written in real time… My older brother was born on the same day Skeezix was abandoned on the doorstep (Nov. 13, 1927.)
I just noticed Mickey Mouse cleverly placed so that it might or might not be. Gotta be careful with those Disney things, and I think this works perfectly!
Kudos to Guy. It’s hard to do GOOD drawings of other artists’ characters, but this totally works. Even if I don’t know all the names, I recognized everyone here.
Sandy (from Little Orphan Annie) says “Arf!”.Also it looks like Snoopy is peaking around Annie’s shoulder. I suspect the sailor cap in the lower left of the second panel between Kermit and Grimm belongs to the Sta-Puft (“stay puffed” – not sure how to spell it) Marshmallow Man.
The pink girl /might/ be a Campbell’s Soup kid, but I rather fancy she’s Lena, Miss Twiddle’s niece, from “Katzenjammer Kids” / ”Captain and the Kids”.
Thanks for Abner and Jiggs. Haven’t thought about them in years. Anyone remember a comic strip character who was a knight called Okey Doaks? Perhaps I spelled that wrong. Or another, an Italian immigrant called Ferdnand?
I think I got most of them, but who is the blond on the right ofCapt Marvel? Who are the 2 dark skinned boys, the boy under Rollo, the girl above the “T”, the boy by Momma, the boy between Donald Duck & Kermit?? Am I the only onethat saw ATOM MAN under the “H”?HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NANCY!!
Sorry I’m so late to the party! I also see the king from “Wizard of Id” and BC next to and above Kermit. So many I’ve read over the years and a few I’ve only heard of. Thanks Guy and crew! Happy Thanksgiving.

Prince Valiant. Who are the two blond dudes flanking Superman and Captain Marvel, and the little guy peeking out from behind the cake next to B.C.?
overtherainbow about 11 years ago
No Miss Peach, or (sob) Hipshot, but you really couldn’t cram everyone in from 80 years of comics.
