Did he remember to bring the payment to Charon, the boatman on the River Styx?

Can’t convince Death by argument – “The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on; nor all thy piety nor wit can lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all thy tears wash out a word of it”. It’s like trying to convince someone that you deserve to be loved, when he/she simply doesn’t have feelings for you, that way. No way to convince ’em by argument.

The problem with some comics is trying to decipher the creator’s thought process. It took me a bit on this one, but I got it. Luckily on others, the commentors will explain. Sometimes no one has a clue.

Unfortunately, the only extension death really gives us is a coma. Everything else is a near miss.

It is the terminal for a train on which one is placed at birth. It begins as soon as one is aboard, runs continuously with a few shunts to sidings for great events and new experiences. There track changes but very little view of what’s ahead. There are no stops, no time table, and no conductor. There is no return ticket. The best one can hope for is a good seat in the observation car and a few good companions along the way.

The security system at my office building was called Cerberus. The panel with that name on it was right by the stairs. I had to pass it every day on my way to work. And on my way home.

The big problem these days is that, even when the family remembers to put the coins on the deceased’s eyes, the Funeral home people steal them and claim they thought it was a “Tip”.
