You spend time on endless speculation or you could wait for the event and see what happens. On election day, I wait until the end of the day to check the results.
I have to admit I get hooked on a “Royals Headline” every so often, but I make a concerted effort to NEVER click through to the story. They’re no more important or interesting than the Kardashians or any other celebrity, and I’ve ALWAYS been disappointed when I used to occasionally read more.
Tradition? As Rick Mercer (Canadian comedian) put it, you have to feel for the guy who was told since he was in diapers that one day, by tradition, he’d be King of all England and is possibly back in diapers now that he finally got the job.
They will be taken to Disneyland, tied up, and be sent through the “It’s a Small World” ride for six uninterrupted hours. The guillotine might be a mercy.
It’s interesting how hard it is to avoid hearing about those two even without ever intentionally reading a story about them.
I suppose I’d qualify as a moderate anglophile, but that doesn’t imply an interest in their royal family. Celebrity worship of any kind is rather puzzling, but particularly when it’s directed at people without any noticeable talents or skills.
Maybe just send Megan to the Tower of London and gulp you know. Worked for Henry VIII and Harry, a real Count kind of guy, has to know he messed up getting involved with that Ann❤️Eiffel was a huge mistake to begin with. Problem solved and welcome back to the Royal Family, Harry.
Hank and Meg have turned their backs on the family business (well, except for their prince and princess kids titles and their duke and duchess titles). They don’t have to (and probably shouldn’t) attend daddy’s coronation and should be attending a PTA meeting when their day jobs don’t get in the way. And Hank can keep working on not being mentally/emotionally 12 anymore.
Considering the billions of pounds that the grifting Windsors have raked in from the gormless and gulliblle, they make the Trumps look like fourth-rate pikers.
I could honestly not care any less about the ridiculousness of “Royalty.”
Old habits die hard, and traditions are often clung to like the fabric of life itself. Still, I shake my head at some of the absurd things that people get so worked up about. Even though it is not for me, I try to temper my revulsion knowing that these things often bring comfort to people, and that is often necessary to get through this life. I just wish some of these traditions didn’t do so much harm.
Why not simply abolish the monarchy? The whole kit and caboodle has outlived its usefulness, after all. Of course, I have an open mind on all of this, as you can see.
We are supposed to be a representative republic, not a democracy. Too bad so few people don’t understand the difference, and how many fewer don’t care.
I don’t understand the U.S. fascination with English royalty. It doesn’t seem to be solely a push by the media to fill in a slow news day. Any major English Royalty event gets full coverage by the U.S. media, and certain people seem to enjoy it. The best thing is for the new king to abdicate the throne, and terminate this tradition. Bet the British tax payers would appreciate that move.

Of course, if they don’t go, Meghan doesn’t get to add another acting/modeling job to her semi-royal resume.
