2 thoughts – 1: I immediately heard Lucy from Peanuts “touched the dog!” and 2: I use a “dog” shampoo for controlling itchy scalp. Powerful, but definitely must be kept out of eyes.
I used to bathe my dogs once a month with Dawn® Dishwashing Detergent. It killed and prevented tick and flea infestations better than any type of shampoo/conditioner/repellant available at the pet store. A veterinarian put me on to this many, many years ago. And it works!!
I’ve used a dog brush for my long thick semi-curly hair for decades. My cats like to be brushed with it too and will (sort of) patiently wait for their turn while I brush my hair.
I remember a similar experience but it didn’t happen with pet products. When I was stationed in Korea back in ‘77-79, my wife had a friend of hers over to visit. When she went to brush her teeth, she mistakenly thought my tube of Head & Shoulders shampoo was toothpaste. We heard her yell and then we discovered what she did. Needless to say it was extremely funny. I guess she didn’t have to worry about have dandruff on her teeth that day!

seeing as I’ve never owned a dog before, is shampoo for dogs that bad on human scalps and hair?

It seems to me that she might need a new pair of glasses. Mine are just a few months old, and I’m ready for new pair.

And also, don’t mistake the dog treats for breakfast cereal, the Milk Bones for “digestive biscuits.”

After she showers, hopefully the dog towel is there for her to use.

At least she’ll rid her scalp of ticks and lice, midges and mites, and may have to wash twice to rid whatever he rolled in.

Serves her right. Talking to the dog as if it’s his fault she doesn’t know her brush from his.
