But it makes getting dressed in the morning when you are not totally awake. It is lot easier to lay out clothes and whaterever is needed in the morning, at night when still awake.

Sometimes old people need to downsize. It is not unreasonable to go through your stuff to see what you have.

I just have white socks and black socks. It takes all the guesswork out of getting dressed.

I do some small exercise sets every day. B.o.r.i.n.g… so at least I can count the reps various ways. I count forward and backward in English, Spanish and German numbers, and forward and backward in the alphabet (English only). Since there are 26 letters in the alphabet, I generally do sets of 13. Spouse (and a couple of others I’ve explained it to) just roll their eyes. But I’ve found that if I don’t break up the counting SOMEHOW, I lose track of where I am in the sequence. After I count to 10 fifteen times… or was that fourteen? or sixteen? there’s just no way to know how much I’ve done.

Fortunately, I’m color blind. If any of my clothes are organized according to any system, somebody else must have done it.

Alphabetization. Is that why the right sock is always lost first in the laundry before the left?

My clothes are sorted by the spectrum method. Hanging or drawers, both by color. Black at one end, white at the other.

May I respectfully suggest that he’s doing a “make work” task in order to look busy and get out of any other household tasks or jobs she needs him to do?

“I can’t do that now, Opal, I’m busy alphabetizing my socks!”
