Once that day comes, it won’t matter if he likes ironing or not, he’ll never have to do it again!

When a man gets married he knows he would do anything for his woman. He was thinking along the lines of fighting off bad guys and slaying dragons, not vacuuming or ironing.

I’m surprised Opal would even let Earl do (any of) the ironing – especially one of her tops.

gasp! Opal’s favorite blouse! It was nice knowing you Earl!

(Btw it appears y’all might’ve managed to get rid of the woman hater? He hasn’t commented in close to a week and usually the very 1st comment is some woman (Opal usually but it often included all women) bashing drivel but the last time he commented several of you called him out on it! I certainly haven’t missed his nonsense here or on BC but I have noticed it’s not the 1st comment top of the page like before!)

Striking while the iron is hot might work for opportunity, but one has to apply it more carefully when ironing.

Is that shirt yours or Opal’s? Because if it’s hers, she’s not going to like the iron burn on it.

I’m with Earl. Of all household chores, the most unnecessary has to be ironing. You have to wash a dirty shirt, you have to dry a wet shirt, but you are perfectly able to wear a clean, dry shirt that has not been ironed. (Unless you work at one of those superficial offices where they judge the state of your shirt before they judge the state of your work… )

My wife has always been confused about some traditional gender roles, such as asking me to do the ironing and sewing. Fortunately, very rarely.

I’m a firm believer in permanent press. My solution is, if it needs ironing, it goes to the used clothing store.

I hate ironing, thus I got exceptionally good so it takes less time. Even as a kid, I was so good at it, while my dad was a cop, he actually preferred me to iron his uniforms instead of Mom because I could nail the shirt-sleeve crease dead center through the department and sergeant-stripe patches every time.

Jesus died for all of us, but noone talks about his days as a Carpenter. Sure during all those years he made some beautiful things. Where are these wonderful things now? Why are they not cherished if the Son of God made them? They should be at the Christie auction house making millions. Then the other question is when he hit his hand the hammer did he yell out his own name? and if he had did he know then that his middle name started with an F?

I didn’t mind ironing when I was working. I kind of found it relaxing. I even had a wall-mounted ironing board inside what looked like a small cabinet next to my closet door in my previous house. I couldn’t find a very good place to put one where I live now so I rarely iron any more.

Wearing clothes that require ironing is so 20th century. Might as well still own a washer with a wringer.

In the old days, as a kid, I had to iron my father’s handkerchiefs to help mom. It was okay I guess, I survived. It stopped though when I sprayed spray starch inside one of mom’s bras. She was not amused.

It takes an iron will and hot determination to iron properly. If you don’t do it properly, it’s just a waste of time (and clothing).

Spoken by someone who has not ironed in at least three years. :)
