Ever notice when you buy insurance and make a claim you never claim that the doctor visit was “free”, But when you pay taxes to the Government and then they “give” you things they call it “free”? It is a mindset that we need to put an end to.

If you have a monocle, is that “glasses half full” or “glasses half empty”?

The major problem with “big optometry” is that Essilor International (Luxottica), owns about 80% of the optical market AROUND THE WORLD. (Wiki says 25% but, with the number of outlets they own, plus the fact they have about 140,000 combined employees … )

They own the license for glasses, to Giorgio Armani, Armani Exchange, Brooks Brothers, Bulgari, Burberry, Chanel, Coach, Dolce & Gabbana, Emporio Armani, Michael Kors, Miu Miu, Oakley, Polo Ralph Lauren, Prada, Ralph Eyewear, Ralph Lauren, Scuderia Ferrari, Starck Biotech Paris, Tiffany & Co., Tory Burch, Valentino, Versace.

ALSO they own the license to “Transitions” brand, and much more. Just search Wikipedia for Essilor and Luxottica.
