You Are My Moon And Stars

I am giving a tour of the planetarium to a group. We are starting on the terrace outside the building that has a great view of the city.

Guest: Pointing at the moon “That’s the moon!”

Me: “Yes, sir.”

Guest: “But it’s the daytime!”

Me: “Yes, it’s a common misconception that you can only see the moon at night. Thanks to the Earth’s rotation and certain atmospheric conditions—”

Guest: Pointing at the sun “But the sun is right there!”

Me: “Yes, sir.”

Guest: “But they’re the same thing!”

Me: “…”

Everyone Else On The Tour: “…”

Me: “Sir, they are most certainly not the same thing.”

Guest: “Oh… is this like a flat earth thing?”

I am really not sure if he enjoyed the rest of the tour, but at least he was quiet.

i think we all do in fact

ok, ok, gravity keeps us from flying off⠄⠄⠄

but shouldn’t we all be really dizzy?

Rory must be a card carrying member of the flat Earth society.

Neil hired some muscle to go with him on all public engagements. Gets far less of that now.

I’d like to see Rory’s reaction when Stan tells him the Earth spins at a thousand miles per hour while travelling through space at 67,000 miles per hour.

Sounds like a lot of bull to me..

We are moving away from the center of the universe at about 1Million mph, the energy required to move all that mass….
