I have an uncle whom a neighbor would keep when his mother (my grandmother) would go shopping. The neighbor served dinner. She asked him if he would like some deviled eggs. He replied, “No ma’am. My mother doesn’t allow me to eat cuss words”.

More rude to let her mis-speak. It’s okay to correct if someone is learning something new. Non-judgemental, matter-of-fact and kind.
