Delay of Game!

I use to have the NFL Ticket while it was with DirecTV. It seemed that when the game I was watching would cut to commercial I would checque out another and guess what they would be in commercial break as well. Coincidence ?

You forgot all the pharmaceutical commercials for products with crazy names and advertised as though they were candy treats!

Timing!

Watch rugby. The ads are all around the field and sponsors on the uniforms, but you get the match end to end. Halftime is a fixed camera on the field, mike off. Great for that needed break. And, dare I say, it’s better than American fb. Ouch.

They know their audience.

Heard the person who cost Bud Light BILLIONS is now fishing for a Super Bowl ad. Exciting times.

I quit watching TV decades ago because of commercials.

Arlo, the infamous scroller……..

That ALWAYS happens, just as the network overlays a commercial over the game coverage just as a crutial play is happening. OR, if it is NCAA football, some idiot commentator tries to interview the coach while the game is in progress. lol

I’d rather watch a test pattern. They’re more interesting than what’s being aired these days.

I love how they stop the game for commercials, let’s we fans know what is most important.

During the 1980 Olympics, the Network covering the games, during the USA vs USSR, with Team USA trailing 3-2, THIRD PERIOD, they cut to a commercial while USA scored the tying goal!

And then in the next panel, Arlo says, “Wait – where’s Rodgers?”

Well, what do you expect, Arlo? A few years ago, someone released the results of their observation:

Super Bowl coverage lasted 6 hours.

The ball was in play for, IIRC, 12 minutes. (Might have been 21.)

The actual playing time of a regulation NFL game is twelve minutes. The other three and a half hours is commercial ads.

Wait, nothing that tells you to talk to your doctor and then lists a bunch of things the medication they are peddling will do to you?

Patrick Mahomes is in most of those commercials.

Drug commercials are the most prevalent. They should be banned.

Which is why I use a DVR for games.

Gee I wonder what comes next……

And now, another beer commercial.

I stopped watching football when I realized the only enjoyable part of the game was seeing semi-literate multi-millionaires beating the c*** out of each other.

That’s what keeps free tv free…unfortunately!

Somebody mentioned YouTube streaming? Forget today’s televised football miasma. I recently watched games 6 and 7 of the 1952 World Series in their entirety on YouTube. Being 6 years old at the time I didn’t see the original broadcasts but later learned the players. Duke Snider, Pee Wee Reese, Roy Campanella, Gil Hodges, Jackie Robinson, Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra, Phil Rizzuto, Billy Martin, etc., etc. With Red Barber and Mel Allen announcing. What a time travel trip that was.

Meh. Just record the game and watch it later, so you can fast forward through the commercials.

I feel you pain, Arlo. Foot ball games have turned into a flood of Commercial breaks interrupted by moments of actual game.
