There was a huge crash from elsewhere in the house. We went to check and a bunch of shelves that had fallen. My young son was standing just outside of the room looking scared.
“Were you in here when it fell?” we asked our son.
“I was standing right here when it hit.”
The way he worded it made me wonder. “Where were you when it started to fall?”
He pointed to the top of where the shelf used to be. He would not lie but he would not volunteer any information not absolutely requested.

If you stick the bowls in the freezer, you can reuse them the next time you eat ice cream.

If they at least make it to the sink, you’ve made progress. Getting them to run some water in them would be a major accomplishment.

Oh dear, when she said “when I come back …” I thought she was referring to the after life! (if that is where comic characters end up).

My wife puts bowls, with soap in them, like they’re going to clean themselves. But I end up washing them.
