Ugh! Summer heat and humidity. I wish it were fall already, when cat snuggling is ever so welcome.

I mentioned before that I’ve been stressed, yeah? I turned 39 last month and I have never had a driver’s license. I found out I could do the written test online, whih I thought was great, but there was an issue where they couldn’t “verify my identity” so I had to go to the DMV anyway. Hence, stress.

But I had my appointment on Friday and passed the test with only four wrong answers!

There’s this newfangled technology called air conditioning. It’s highly recommended.

Cats can say ‘turn the AC up’ without using the words.

My husband and I have taken to getting up early to get our daily walks done, and even at 7 am the temperature is in the 80s, with humidity at 90 percent. We both turn into limp rags and stagger home after a couple of miles. It helps to listen to podcasts or stories while we walk, and distracts from the heat. We’ve been listening to a lot of Garrison Keillor, great for an early morning belly laugh.

When it’s hot, my cats don’t go on the catio, preferring to nap in our sinks.

I’m still missing Iggy.

This is literally me. I woke up this morning with four cats draped on me like the world’s heaviest electric blanket. One wrapped around my neck like a winter scarf. I thought I was having heat stroke.

It’s normal weather where I live, so quit your bellyaching, lol!

I know that I should know better, but I had a mouth full of coffee when I read OZ’s words! Almost snorted it onto my keyboard! LOL!

This more hot year for we also. And we is gots more rains this year too.

Having flashbacks to last month when after Hurricane Beryl we lost power (and AC) for 7 days…in South Texas. I had enough shed cat hair on me to make another cat.

I have a ductless A/C-Heat Pump that is very economical to run. But I use fans alot mostly. Only when the humidity and temp get really bad do I resort to the A/C.

Well it’s raining cats and dogs in my city, and we are about 14°C right now. We are having a great monsoon this year

Phone said it was 86F outside yesterday – grabbed the book, iced tea and bug spray and walked outside to thickness. Didn’t last 5 minutes. The “Feels Like” temperature was 98F!

Humidity requires humility

We have a fifty-year-old house that does not cool well. Because the thermostat is on the first floor, the AC turns off before the second floor, where all the bedrooms are, cools down. Split-level homes are also a challenge to cool. By far, a ranch style is the best, especially since our summers are only going to get hotter.

The Woman is suffocating from love. At least it is only four cats and not all of them.

It’s like wearing a fur coat when they lay on you in the summer heat.

I love it, my cat would climb into me if she could!!! roll on cooler days!

Woman, It’s called central Heating and COOLING, other wise known as AC. We have the technology now.

It seems like on the hot and humid days, our bodies must feel “cool” to the cats,

When I first moved to FL with Natasha (long hair) and Ash (short hair), I couldn’t afford to use the HVAC. It would have cost half of my rent. So for the first 9 years, went without. But both Natasha and Ash would want to be on my lap! I would let them for a bit and then put them off. I lost both of them in 2007, two years after moving here. That’s when I got my Vlad and a few months later, Sebastian. I’m glad the apartment finally converted to central air.

My cat lies to lie on the floor on the lowest level all stretched out with his belly exposed and legs apart. It’s really cute.

There’s enough cat hair on my pillow that it FEELS like one has crawled into my mouth! ;P

Having lovable, furry companions by your side is a good way to beat the summer heat.

Hopefully the Woman can deploy a fan or two to cool things off. While it is in the low 70s where I am sitting and a bit humid, I feel hot just looking at today’s strip and those warm kitties gathered all around Georgia.

We have tile floors in the downstairs. There’s a rug in the living room. When the heat is at a maximum cats lie completely on the tile. At lower but still warm temperatures they lie partly in the rug and partly on the tile. I’ve often wondered if you could calibrate it. E. g. 50% of cat on tile = X degrees.

Just a note: our predicted high temp for Wednesday in this part of south Texas is 104°F. (That’s 40°C.)

so… y’all know why the cats want to be next to us during these heatwaves right? Because their body temp is higher than ours. We are literally their personal cooling stations..
