I’m reminded of one of my favorite Tom & Jerry cartoons, “Mice Follies”. In it, Jerry and Tuffy deliberately flood the kitchen and then freeze it all over with the refrigerator attachment so they can enjoy themselves ice-skating. Of course, Tom Cat butts in and bullies the mice, but he ends up as an ice sculpture, thanks to quick-thinking Tuffy!
The two sinks upstairs do not have over-flow holes and the hot and cold are swapped. The former isn’t fixable and the latter is a royal pain to get at.
I remember once when my parents were our our kitchen sink went kablooey. Thankfully, one of my parents’ best friends was a plumber, so I just called him. He saw it as a family emergency & didn’t even charge us.

I guess the fact that the water isn’t stopping didn’t count.

They’ll need a lot of paper towels to clean that mess up.

Calvin´s dad will soon learn that ANY Calvin´s call is a matter of life and death….

I swear most sinks have that thing that stops the water from flowing out.

After they get done mopping up the mess, the floor should be really really clean.

Today’s strip fits in nicely with yesterday’s where Dad was talking about simplifying and getting down to essentials.

THE FAUCET’S NOT EVEN RUNNING. Can’t be the main, cuz it would’ve hit the tub and crapper, first. And if no one is using the water, it will stop.

Now if that was the toilet, THAT would be really important.

When I saw today’s strip, I thought, “Sheesh, this is bad news…I really hope they don’t have a basement!”

Why would anyone leave a 6 yr. old alone, let alone Calvin?

Where’s Mom?
Angry Indeed Premium Member 28 days ago
This is why smart moms never leave six year olds at home alone. That is flirting with disaster. You would think that Calvin’s mom would know by now.
John Jorgensen 28 days ago
Oh I’d say it qualifies now. The sheer amount of water that would be needed to get the level up that high is kind of hard to imagine.

Everything in the bottom drawers, under the sink, & lower shelves of the cupboards is toast!

Why are Calvin and Hobbs home alone? Where is his mom? Is the babysitter locked in the closet?

You could probably ice skate in the kitchen if you were to turn the thermostat way down to below freezing, Calvin.
