Rat: Smartphones just get better and better.
You will also want to keep on the road to salvation by daily obedience to God’s commandments as a way of showing that you really HAVE changed and accepted Christ’s atoning sacrifice; that’s part of what true repentance is, which is why it’s an ongoing process, not just a one-time event.
But having both said our pieces, I think this is where this part of the discussion should end — this isn’t a religion forum, after all!
Matthew 6: 5-75. And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.6. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.7. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. You’re a hypocrite, Nabu, and you babble like a pagan.
@legaleagle48:Good point for most of us; we try (and succeed for the most part) at being decent……however, the level of embarassing and stupid can be quite a load.
Pastis missed it this time. Rat would want an app that deletes annoying people and the like. I doubt that Rat even cares that his bad deeds need to be deleted.
Well, a smart phone like that would certainly reduce the drama an’ anxiety of life…but it would also remove much of the purpose of life. Our mistakes – the ones we recover from, anyway – are the means by which we learn, grow, mature an’ build character… Life’s struggles an’ challenges – those which don’t kill us – can make us stronger. It’s an ol’ cliche, but it’s true.
I would love an app that deletes annoying people. Starting with my sister, who thinks that those 20 months separating us makes her infinitely smarter and better at everything.
Sorry, folks, but Nab has the same free speech rights as the rest of us. His point IS related to the 10th panel in the strip. He didn’t kill your day by posting it. If you don’t like his post, you have the right to respond to it OR ignore it. But don’t tell him that his rights are any less than yours. Be thankful you have eyes to read it, a mind to contemplate it, the right and ability to make your own decisions, and the freedom to choose whether to believe or not believe. I saw nothing in his Nab’s post that is deserving of “flagging” or using “foul language.”. He certainly did not personally attack anyone…
“The beauty of religious mania is that it has the power to explain everything. Once God (or Satan) is accepted as the first cause of everything which happens in the mortal world, nothing is left to chance…logic can be happily tossed out the window.”Stephen King
In the past you have posted long religious posts. Upon reading about you, your studies, and published works I have but one question… How can you have an “overwhelming passion for facts” yet still preach to everyone about something so largly void of fact? I am interested as to why somone with your education and background would not lean towards evolution as opposed to faith.
XXXX is a naturalist and scientist who has earned four degrees in the biological, geological and engineering sciences and has worked in such divers fields as materials engineering and endangered species work.* He has lived and worked in Oregon and northern California and is a native of Oregon. XXXX is interested in everything with an extraordinary memory for details. He reads everything from archaeology to history to zoology and has studied four languages. He writes non-fiction and fiction. He mastered basic relativity as a preteen, calculated and drew up star maps in high school, went into engineering and eventually natural resources when the economy contracted in the mid 1990s. XXXX has had an OVERWHELMING PASSION FOR FACT, something more and more frequently ignored in the media and popular culture as the years have progressed. When he’s had time, he has painted, drawn and illustrated. His hobbies are day trips, hiking, photography, and writing. He does a lot of volunteer work. He was born again at 11, is a practicing Christian, and writes Christian fiction as well as science fiction and non-fiction. *M.S. That’s a smartphone I might be interested in buying! What will they think of next? How will they top that for the next year’s model?

I think Rat’s been taken in by superior advertising.

Etch-A-Sketch your life. With a shake, you can erase everything you’ve done on the grid. Sounds perfect for Romney.

This is a comic strip not Sunday bible school. Give it a break already.

Anything free is worth what you pay for it.

I know it’s Sunday – but really! If I wanted to be preached at, I would be in church. That being said, this comic is really funny.

We don’t need that phone. We already have Jesus.

Tell you what; you don’t pontificate in the comics, and I won’t tell jokes in your church, OK?

There is unfortunately no “Back” button on Life.
daveoverpar about 12 years ago
If it only had a button to erase everything Obama has done or maybe just delete his whole presidency. That would be awesome.
