Knute, before you get serious about Crystal notice all the bling you have to put up with.

Crystal can’t go in, she would sink with all that bling.

Actually, to be very properly and completely dressed, all she needs is that choker.I think the character of Crystal has been very well realised with this strip.And yes, she should be pushed in, sorta accidentally, perhaps not by Knute.

What’s are alter kockers? Ohh (lol) See how this pool party features all the couples although if Quill shows up in person that will be a real surprise. Crystal and Knute, the original odd couples; opposites attract. And I know he does not dare throw her in.

I think Peter Otterloop, Jr. of “Cul de Sac” would like Crystal’s definition of pool party.

And now, we’re making our way to the rest of the pool and the grand tour is slowly winding down…

And I see that all the water splooshing from yesterday has now evaporated into the blue background, and there’s fresh water in smaller puddles… =And there’s silhouettes probably sounding out words to each other in the background, like Lu and Bern are doing there, for example…

Was there an oil spill in the pool? I wouldn’t want to swim in that either!

Seems Gunther’s not the only one who’s lousy at paying attention to his girlfriend’s outfit

If, as many people seem to think, this strip is set in SoCal, why is Rosa’s family the only one to have a pool? When I was growing up in San Diego 40+ years ago, pools were pretty common. These kids are acting like they’ve never seen a pool before.

Something I’ve been thinking about for a while and hoping to see: Knute at some point does something or shows some side of his character that so takes Crystal’s breath away that she just grabs him and plants a big ol’ passionate kiss on him.C’mon, Knute- I know you’re that guy that’s going to sweep her off her feet.

A day or so ago, someone pointed out Crystal’s previous swimwear. You may recall that Crystal did not jump in the water to save her best friend Tiffany or Knute and Gunther, who conked their heads when they tried to rescue Tiffany. Perhaps Crystal doesn’t know how to swim (speculation). One would think twice before pushing Crystal in the water.

That pool’s water is so black, it looks like it is possessed by the Sha of Filthiness….

Knute the Jerk is perilously close to having his head handed to him by Crystal. She is wearing, more or less, a nice outfit, right down to the heels. If Knute tries some of the kind of idiocy he perpetrated on Rosa and Gunther with Crystal, he and his Ducky will be permanently deflated.

I don’t think Crystal has any intention of getting wet…Knute would be a super-dork if he even tried to think about getting her in the pool, or, even better, pull the cannon-ball stunt on her like he did to Rosa and Gunther. Somehow, I think he’s smarter than that. Not sure if Crystal does have her version of a swimsuit on or not. At any rate, her pool party outfit fits her personality… ;)

There’s a lot of things these days that people say and do out of a “mechanical” labeling but really don’t do much of, like saying you’re going to a pool party, but you’re just going to be seen…=Same thing with going to a sporting event, but you’re on your cell phone the whole time, or at one of the attractions there, doing everything but watching the game…

I was somehow expecting Crystal to have more tattoos. None are visible from this angle, and she’s showing a lot of skin. Did Crystal come without her constant companion Tiffany? We know that Tiff was invited, so is she there or did she have other plans? I wonder whether she has posed for the picture frame photo yet.

I like how Knute doesn’t gape or leer or do anything crude (this IS Luanneville) when Crystal says to look at her. He’s being nice about it, and still getting the eyeful a dude would love to get. Quite a contrast with Gunther, who can’t look at his girlfriend’s body even at her invitation.

You also possibly missed the “Electric Company” “Soft-shoe Silhouette” reference, as well….

If you look closely, it appears to be a skull necklace. No tat yet, but maybe she’ll turn around and we’ll see if Evans remembered it.

My take is tomorrow will be Tiffany and then Bernice and Luann will finish the arc.

Here is a question for you. Over Crystal’s right leg, halfway between knee and hip, it looks like a medallion is hanging at the end of the chain. What would happen if Knute reached down and pulled it?

Mm. Looks to me like it’s at the end of a chain that wraps around Crystal’s waist. If Knute pulled it, Crystal would stumble forward (note the heels) and fall into Knute’s arms. Rather the equivalent of a woman pulling a man in close by his necktie, only with more full body contact. ;-9

I gave a pool party for one of my sons (after their Hawaiian wedding) at my boyfriend’s pool, but I wore a sarong type dress. I only like to swim laps (not splash around in a crowded pool when I have food and cake to attend to.
