I guess I’ll be one of the few that will hold out that this is just a “perspective” strip, today (as Greg has done before), and that this could be left up to interpretation….– I’d like to fall on the side of it being a possibility that it could be something else, as I’d be on the side that would like to think that not everybody does what’s prevalent, or what could maybe just seem as though it’s going to be what many perceive to be the obvious thing (Greg has stated before that he is for everybody’s point of view in his strip)… so, I’ll hold off assumptions about it until Monday… I’ll keep thinking it’s anything else, until it is indicated by more than just talk and innuendo and “leadings”….

SO; the question is, who will becatering the wedding? T.J.? (and who’s cooking? Quill?) Let’shope not. :)

I’m sure that their TV only comes on, because Brad was the one to install it… – It could be #2, but I think Puddles was smart enough to stash some food away, before they all left… – I guess that leaves #1… it’s a week or two late for the “annual smoke detector inspection”, being Firefighters, and all, but it could have been that Brad’s keen sense of “fire prevention detection” kicked in, and he saw that they had work to do….

I used to think there were more people in favor of Brand & Toni flippin’ on the Marvin Gaye and Gettin’ it on…

Surprisingly, it seems like Levi’s actually converting people to his way of thinking. I am somewhat surprised.

I am not giving up on Toni’s ability to send our boy away feeling sad and blue.-She may leave him blue, but not sad.

My prediction is that we will have a whole week of teasing banter, and no resolution. Those of us who think sex is a normal part of an adult relationship will go away seeing that it clearly happened. Those of us who think they should wait for after the vows will see that they clearly enjoy kidding around about it. Leviticus will continue to be noisy, reminding us every chance he gets that his rules of evidence were not met.

5) Just when These Two “Love Monkeys” are about to Get “Busy”, A Bugler (YES, I Said “BUGLER”) will Break in to STEAL the DeGroot’s Worldly Treasures all while BLOWING a Trumpet at the TOP of His Lungs! And That Bugler will turn out to be Dirk!

6) Brad and Toni Will Decide to WAIT ‘til AFTER They’re MARRIED to have S.E.X. off Strip and will Spend the Week which Gaw-Awful “Chick Flixs”.

Isn’t it possible that Brad’s inviting Toni over so they can spend a whole day (or however long the Degroots are out of town) together, just the two of them, without any distractions? It doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a booty call. And if it is, they’re both adults. It would be an important plot point if it were Luann and Quill, since part of the story of adolescence is the story of burgeoning sexuality, but not so much for Brad and Toni. Some details can be left to the fevered imagination.

It’s interesting the way Brad expresses it: Jonah is “supposed” to have Shannon next week. Excuse me, but as her father isn’t Jonah supposed to have Shannon, always? It would make sense for Jonah to ask Toni to take Shannon sometimes, occasionally, when he has to, but the way they’re talking makes it sound as if Toni’s caring for Shannon is more nearly a default situation. It’s as if Toni too is “supposed” to have custody, on certain weeks.

Shannon with her father (I won’t call him “dad”). That won’t last past the first afternoon.

They can’t do anything alone in that big ol’ house that they couldn’t already have done alone in Toni’s apartment.*The real difference I see is that in the DeGroot home they are more likely to be interrupted:1) By Quill or TJ2 ) By a burglar, who sees the family car gone.

Whoever does the colors, made a mistake in the first panel. There’s a green triangle below Toni’s collar and next to her left hand, that’s supposed to be part of her upper arm. (It should be purple, not green.)

It’s a comic strip, so you can “regain” your innocence after you’ve lost it, via a simple retcon.

I don’t get it. Are those two in a relationship or not ? They don’t even live together; they have to wait for Brad’s mommy and daddy to leave for the weekend so they can have a chance to play house ? NOTHING about Toni and Brad indicates, even slightly, that they have an mature adult relationship. But I digress. Family strip be damned; it ain’t the 1950’s anymore. Get with the times !

That is the space between her arm and her body. You see the green wall behind her thru that space.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Sorry Lev, R0nin is right. Her shoulder would be very deformed if this triangle area was empty. Look at the same area in panel #3 and you will see this area the same color as the sweater.

could it be they have respect for the others that live with them, especially parents? Also, as I recall, it’s pretty frustrating to have roommates – getting dressed to get a glass of water is a bummer, etc.

Brad could just be insinuating that both are alone, so they might as well be alone together. And the rest is speculation. Maybe there will be role play – maybe just talk & snuggling. Certainly there will be no overt drawing that couldn’t be included in the newspaper.

And Brad’s parents home is neutral territory. Nobody should be busting in on them, like Jonah with Shannon, TJ, or some of their friends from work. But we know differently, right?

IT’S OBVIOUS THAT NO ONE COMMENTED ON, “WHAT’ S UP” SINCE BRAD HAS HIS LEGS CROSSED AND THE HAND……. Oh sure, it’s charming now. But give ’em enough time and their marriage will be about as romantic as a “Lockhorns” strip! Hagar the Horrible, Snuffy Smith, and Dagwood Bumstead will look like Valentino compared to Brad!

Ohhhh…I sense the ruination of a perfect couple-time. Evans has a tendency to truly screw up such plots with ‘helicopter-family members’. Can’t you give Brad and Toni just one great pre-wedding night of peace?

What’s next? The two forced to deal with the entire cast hovering around on their honeymoon because it’s all about ‘family’?

If Evans keeps this up, I’m no longer reading his strip.
