G-man has a point… think of young Wesley Crusher… he got in a lot of trouble over a bunch of flowers in the grass… – Then again, Gunther must’ve overlooked the fact that there’s a hospital down there, at the bottom of the hill… so, it must be okay…. – I wonder if YouTube can come down to tape this….

The greatest irony is that Les the bully was a far greater threat to him then the decline of the hill (which isn’t anywhere near steep enough to be 47%, let alone 147%, which means somebody didn’t do their math…

I’d like to know what he was thinking when he decided to take a backpack to the Bully. I suspect in analyzing that thought process, he will pick up his courage from the Wizard from Oz here.

Has it occurred to anyone that Gunther is probably gay? Look at the facts:

    1. He is a pubescent boy about to go to college.2. He has been with Rosa for a year and has yet to make a move.3. Rosa is hot.4. His hobby is making dresses.5. The gay community is not represented in this comic.

This time next year Gunther will be coming out of the closet.

The memories of rolling down the hill with my sister are such good memories of my preschool days and into my school years. I lived in the country, and there was a girl whose mother would let her only go to my house to play because the house about 500 feet further was too far for her to go. She was afraid to roll down hills or slide down the old water pipe that had about a 45 degree slope, and the whole thing was about a foot from the ground, matching the slope of the hill, . She was also afraid to jump off our porch or the second or third step. She “bravely” jumped from the first step saying, “Wheee!” She was the girl the kids at school called “Cootie”, and it was all because her mother treated her like a baby. In high school she finally had enough with her mother and went to live in a foster home where she was very happy and was allowed some independency. Gunth’s mother treats him like a baby. It is up to him to “man up”, but it will be slow. He doesn’t yet know what is wrong.

If it was just the area of hill ending at the five steps, then yes…. but …..it could also be a bit more than that…. Gunther mentioning rocks somewhere at the bottom could be just a couple of small hand held ones, or could be a bit bigger….. this is a case of Perception/Perspective/Point of View… each of our individual P/P/Ps will amount to us interpreting it in different ways… – But it does all lead to the main point of of chipping away at what is underneath the surface of Gunther’s reasoning, psyche, etc. Maybe today’s strip is just a quick one-stop just to establish this, and we all are just adding the rest, based on our own P/P/Ps….maybe tomorrow, another aspect of what’s motivating Gunther will be featured tomorrow… question is, will it be for the point of new insight, a featured new change, or just for a jog down Pathos lane?….

You’re right….unfortunately, it could be just so…. – But some people break those chains either knowingly later on, waaay past when we expect, or accidentally…. and sometimes with a life altering situation…. not always drastic, but enough that that single thing motivates somebody… in the real world this happens a bit more fluidly, but the question is, is Greg going to keep him suspended in this, for as long as the strip exists?….

I actually knew someone like this in school…. buttoned up, not very “out of the box” in social serttings, etc.. but later on in adulthood, they look and act very different from back then… it just was a matter of time, and certain things in life that stimulated the change… from the look, to the confidence… just the right change to stimulate a person, and just a matter of time…

Let’s jump off the bottom step like this. ’Wheee!” Rosa, Frustrated: “I jumped off the second step when I was two. You are a baby.” Rosa to Gunth at age seventeen: “Let’s ride The Screamer”.
