I think this pretty well sums up the feeling of anybody at their job. Even if they overall enjoy what they do. I like what I do for a living but almost daily I wish i was in Bermuda, or Hawaii, or even Vegas (where I want to retire too)

This doesn’t make Mr. Fogarty seem sympathetic, it makes him seem pathetic. Every. single. day. for the past 30 years, he has wished he were ANY place else? And yet he did NOTHING about that. He never changed careers or tried to help himself in any way. *It definitely lends credence to the theory that Mr. Fogarty is terrible at his job. I have the feeling that this whole Fogarty plot will end with his students demonstrating that he really did make a difference. Too little too late.

WORK DAY/PLAY DAY: I propose we have one during Memorial Day weekend. Yesterday I suggested updating Wikipedia’s Luann page, and JayBlue added,* “There’s also “Tropes.com” and Wikia (not to be confused with Wikipedia) and a few other sites that must be “maintained” and/or updated.”*Shall we go about this in an organized manner or just hit & miss, editing each other’s work at will? (That might be more fun and prevent uniformity.) What say we do the Wikipedia page unbiased to our favorite characters and as fans on one of the other sites?

I hope there won’t be staff like Phelps and Fogarty at the colleges. They are not funny but dowdy and pathetic. Good riddance!

I taught for 30 years. The only thing wrong with this strip is the sex of the teacher. Most of the men were teaching because they loved their subject, or because it let them also coach. It was the women who had in the 1960s had the same experience I did. When I went to my high school adviser with A’s in mechanical drawing etc ( though I was the only girl in the class) and said I wanted to be an architect, his reaction was a gentle smirk and " That’s cute, do you want to be a secretary, nurse, or teacher?" So, yeah, there were a lot of teachers who hated the job and never should have been there, but most of them were women.

Please excuse this diversion, folks, but I though you all might want to see this (Especially since many wish for this arc to be over). These kittens in a hamster ball are a sure-fire, must see, “automatic smile generator” that’s sure to brighten your day, or at least be the icing on your Friday! click here and see!!!!!

Gee, Greg, better take a hint about this story line. The natives are getting restless. When people start recommending other website (kittens in a hamster ball) it is really bad. I am going to go see those kittens now, they are probably adorable.

Hmmmm. My 8th grade language arts students once likened me to Fogarty. Someone even gave me a birthday card with Fogarty on it. Well, I am bald, wear glasses, and have used some of his mannerisms and have given similar assignments. I also retired last year, so I am finding I have more and more similarities to him. Hmmmm. I actually used the Fogarty image for my Facebook account for awhile. And when I once wrote Greg and told him kids identified me with Fogarty, he replied how sorry he was for me. Well, hrumph. Fogarty and I are both going to be retired and ENJOYING IT. So there!

I can think of few more depressing things to do than work a job for thirty or so years and hate it.

For most records, they must be in NM, M, or VG condition, but there’s a special group of records (Meet the Supremes’ first pressing, $9,000+; second pressing of album with alt. cover, $500-1,000+) that collectors will make an exception on, especially if it is in “out of print” or “limited stock” worldwide, and they think that the chances of them running across it in a better condition or even ever again are “slim and none”….

I also have aunts and other friends and family in the area (including Temecula). – Our thoughts be with Greg and his, and all of our loved ones and neighbors and the like, and those involved in the rescue operations!

Someday he will miss teaching…we all did.

If any of you are praying types out there, please pray for us here in the San Diego area. It appears some psychopaths are starting at least some of the fires on purpose. The fires aren’t near me now, but they were back in 2007. It nearly scared me half to death.

Yeah, I found out when I saw that Gweedo wasn’t at “Ten Cats” or a few other places. I thought- maybe he’s still making the rounds… then I said- maybe he didn’t know he was back, yet… Aw, Gweed… You’re a “Rebel With Or Without A Cause”, LOL!
