Had an early morning today (!)… So, after I find IS Katie, it is off to the second floor to enjoy my electric blanket! (IS Katie likes to sleep in her extra-large Vari-Kennel right next to my bed, so I would not be surprised if she is waiting for me upstairs as she is not down here with me). ’Nite all! ;)-—————————————————————“This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Yeaaaaaahhhh, Ms. B is still going “cold turkey” without Gunthie to give her a “smothering mom:” fix. She needs a little more withdrawal time.

As far as Gunther’s dad is concerned, there appear to be some inconsistencies in the story. I think Greg/Karen will have to set the record straight. Nice story there @Brdshtt. :) But I was thinking more along the lines of, “if she did Kill him,” it was a HD/SD domestic violence type scenario… Ms. B doesn’t strike me as being a “Black Widow” type. Otherwise, Quilly better get the heck outta there quickly. If he finds a brand new freezer in the garage, it’s too late for him… 8-0

Both versions of why Mrs. B. is a single parent could be true: Maybe Mr. B left the family and then died a couple of years later, while the family was still holding out some hope that he might eventually return. It is also possible that neither one of those stories is true – maybe he is actually in prison, and the family is too ashamed to admit it. Of course, maybe there never was a Mr. Berger, and Gunther is a…

I’m sure this isn’t the first time Mrs. Berger has “stirred” Quill’s “tea”. (And why hasn’t he taken off that heavy coat yet, he’s “home” now. Or can’t Evans draw a puffy shirt?)

Mrs. Berger is something of a stereotype; the old-fashioned mother who became so absorbed in the lives of her child or children that she had no real life of her own. You can see by the photos that decorate her home (frame one) that everything is about Gunther.-It would be interesting if she were allowed to change, just as we’ve been hoping Luann and her friends would change once they get to college. But the last change Mrs. Berger needs is a man like Fogerty coming into her life.-Maybe she needs an interesting career (she must work outside the home, but I can’t remember any discussion about it.)-First off, she needs her own first name. Does anyone remember her ever being called anything but ‘Mrs. Berger’?

:) Very creative. So, if Greg ever decides to write a screen play to satirize the comic, Luann (just like was done in that series of Brady Bunch films that spoofed the television series), he has an interesting plot line he can further “flesh” out. Bravo! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Thank you for the laugh. The story was well written and fun.

““but I know he misses his … home …” "

htd – she’s projecting her own feelings on him. She means, “I sure miss my little Gunthie.”*Happens to lots of single parents— which is why good friends help them find either community (volunteer work) or a mate.

I sure hope not. Do you know the full story (if it IS the full story) of Chuck Barris? The guy was (is?) talented, but kind of a mess.- He worked for Dick Clark, wrote a song that was a hit (I think it was ‘Palisades Park’), but also wrote a book called “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind”. The book was about a spy for the CIA, and he said it was autobiographical…-The Gong Show was just one of a series of creations in his life…

Earlier, someone inquired as to what Ma Berger did for a living. Ma Berger took over Weenie World and with the particular grind she serves, she renamed the restaurant to “Sweeny World.”

Ya know… that was my 1st thought after reading your “Freezer” story… ;-PPP

Although, my experience with ol’ Sweeny was with the Angela Landsbury / George Hearn Broadway Musical.
