Apparently the llama did make an appearance at last… and I was hoping Gunther would climb the Huayna Picchu (the taller mountain you see in the classic Machu Picchu picture). You can reach its summit following a steep trail not suited for the fainthearted… but definitely an adventure.

Well, this appears to be breakfast the morning after Gunther’s arrival home, and he is no longer wearing the Peru shirt, but has another plain t-shirt (not a plaid shirt), and is still sporting the stubble. And he seems still not to have broached the subject of Mr Grey (is Greg toying with us by using that name?). This might be a turning point for Gunther!

Basically he’s doing the stuff he wanted to do in the first place, but couldn’t, because Rosa is a self absorbed prat who is incapable of making any adjustments, while expecting Gunther to change who he is for her. He is so much better off without the skank.

The word ‘skank’ is not an opinion. It is meant as an insult.-You may find entities that post insults to be endearing, beloved people. My opinion (which you say a person is entitled to have) is that an entity that emits insults is not an endearing, beloved person.-it is an entity.

Since the poster calling himself Leviticus got a shout out during the time that Luann was reading college catalogues, I have concluded that someone in the Evans family must be reading some of these comments.-Your comments regarding the cartoonist often state outright that he is a bad writer. That’s not about his personal life. That’s your opinion of his work, and his work ethic. To me, those kinds of comments are meant as insults, not compliments.

I missed the complaint about being sorry about someone’s bridge. Trolls live under bridges, homeless folks like to do so quite often. A bridge actually did fall recently, so anyone who depended on it for transportation or lost a loved one when it fell would be mourning and wishing for comforting.

I am thinking that you might be right. In addition to the case you posted, MikeyJ got a shut out for his comic versions he posted here – he got numerous mentions on their Fakebook page.

I believe someone is watching on behalf of Greg and Karen and, perhaps, reporting certain things to them. Recall also, the controversy surrounding the new character “Sun” and her appearance… which resulted in a personal apology from Greg on the Luann FB page.

That said, I don’t think it’s Greg or Karen themselves. And I think it’s for similar reasons as to why people involved in TV show productions (writers, actors, producers, directors, etc.) don’t participate in the on-line fan groups, etc. for a given show, unless/until they’re no longer involved with the show or the show is done. The problem is “Fanfic…” Fan fiction. Should a fan offer their own ideas about a show (or in this case, the strip) and they end up being used in the show/strip, the fanfic author could sue the show/strip owner for copyright infringement. The only way for the show/strip owner/author to maintain “plausible denyability” is to never have access to the place where the fanfic is being written or displayed. Hence, i seriously doubt Greg or Karen are here, themselves, but I’m sure they have people watch for them.

Will Gunther tell us about what REALLY made him a new man?The four days he spent in the custody of the Peruvian Policia when they caught him travelling without documents just before he was deported? (He saw Rosa there, but they sent her to Mexico.)Too bad Evans seems to have Googled only one place of interest in Peru.It was too much work to depict Gunther flying over the Nazca plains, sandsurfing at the Huacachina oasis, or exploring the markets in the City of Ica.Naturally, he’s too chemically imbalanced to partake of any local Peruvian wines or pisco.

Wait a second. Back up to where TORAD suggests that the fan writer could sue for copywrite infringement. How, exactly? -First of all, for that violation to occur, a copywrite has to be registered. Just typing some words onto an internet site doesn’t register anything.-Secondly, if the fan writer made use of the characters created by the original writer, and the original writer has copywrited his or her work, isn’t it the fan who has more to worry about in the area of copywrite infraction?-I don’t know the answer, since I’m not a lawyer. But as an unpublished writer of short stories, it’s never occurred to me that if I posted an idea here, I had some claim on it…

Actually, in the video from (now last year’s) Q&A session, and also according to what used to be the blog at “the Studio”, Greg Evans stated that it’s Karen who does the scanning amongst the comments here. He says he prefers to keep the “curtain” up, to keep Pitts as “real” as possible, in the sense of enjoying his work, and letting others enjoy it, as well….

ideas are just that, ideas. They are not copyrightable. For copyright infringement, it would have to be large plot elements and dialog that is copied, not just an idea.
