There’s a Parents’ Day? Sure there’s a day for mothers and a day for fathers, but one for both of them at once?
paha_siga over 9 years ago
I am pretty sure these ARE from themselves.

“I believe they both mailed each other cards since they are both thanking each other in the final panel. It’s a tragic ending, that they would need to acknowledge each other’s parent status because their kids won’t do it.”
Hardly tragic – more like pragmatic. I suspect I’m not alone in not knowing that there’s a “parent’s day.”

On the other hand, at least he didn’t complain that it looked like they were headed for a divorce…

I always send myself a postcard when I’m on vacation. When it gets to my place it reminds me of the good times.

Silly, cards for any and every occasion. And they aren’t cheap either.

Heh, heh, there are probably some bosses out there who “don’t know” there was a “National Secretaries’ Day”/“Professional Administrators’ Day”. Probably conversely, there are employees who don’t recognize “Bosses’ Day” (and for both instances they’d probably sound like a “Minion”,saying: Whaaaaat?)….

Neither Brad nor Luann mailed those cards; Frank and Nancy did. They’re parents; they understand. Maybe someday Toni would sent a card, but she and Brad are dancing around setting a wedding date (though she seems to be almost ready, as recent hints have indicated)….

Greg Evans is the only person I “know” – and of course I don’t even know him – who acknowledges Parents Day. I never hear it mentioned in any other way.

Good Grief, “Parents Day” Cards. And NOT from the Off-Springees, but from Each Other. GREAT Way to Celebrate the Lives of the Perpetually Unappreciated, Kids. Sheesh, THIS Is Just So SAD.
So, WHAT Are You gonna do for the REST of Day, DeGroot Parental Units? Dinner, after Viewing the Tomb of the Unknown Taxpayer?
Well At LEAST Frank is Starting the Day with What I BELIEVE to be COFFEE in Panel One….,

Dull Sunday stuff. Thoughtless kids, messy rooms, etc. Repetitive.

I’m going to sit right myself a letter. And make believe it came from you. I don’t remember who sang it, but he ended the song by saying, Oh Yeah!

“Better than what some parents have been claiming the “Minions” toys from McDonald’s are saying…!”^Really? Well, I guess with today’s…..“sensitive and suit-ability” atmosphere (read: the ultra-sensitive ), I shouldn’t be surprised. Then again, also considering the “nefarious” ways some in the entertainment industry try to slip “stuff” past the radar, I also shouldn’t be surprised on that end, either (though I know the general aim of Universal’s putting forth the Minions isn’t to do that, but I’m speaking of the whole process in the entertainment industry, in general)…

“You’ve insulted me for several days now for no reason. I assume that’s what you do, insult new people. You’re being a bully right now, leave me alone.”^I guess this means you’ll get rid of your above comment, “drudging up” an experience of the author of this strip (regardless if such were factual or not), especially as in no way did the author do anything to you , to merrit/warrant “spreading their personal business” (whether actual or implied) over a public forum, especially as they cannot ’defend themselves" to that fact, as you have previously contended that one should be able to do….

To whom it may concern here: Don’t get caught up in the trap. History repeats itself.
