Why, there’s plenty of talent from the old Pitts school!-Yep, there’s a lot of things comin’ out of the ol’ Pitts….the Pitts are practically alive with things, like the sound of music, sports, pet tricks, and more!-Okay, maybe some of The Pitts reek…..

Nailed her best friend’s exterior personality pretty well. Opposites attract because all of the things that Luann brought out about Bernice, are exactly the things that Luann is not. Maybe poetry slam? All the drama over relationships expressed in poetic expression? Maybe they can rehearse a comedy routine with Bernice being the straight woman (not a gay reference for those trolls who might misunderstand the reference (lol). Whatever it should be interesting.

-I think I’ve figured this out, but I really hope I’m wrong. Luann actually does have some ability in song writing, but works better as part of a team. Unfortunately, the only available person who might be part of that team is Quill.

So this is how Greg will surprise us….

They seem pretty funny to me. Bernice makes a great “straight person” to Luann’s “comic foil.”

Let’s not beat around the bush. Bernice has no talent. That is at least part of why she is so bitter and sarcastic all the time. It’s why she may never find a long-term boyfriend.Bernice needs help! Who can develop some talent? How about Pru? Or, if we’re really desperate, old Elwood?

Not sure I’ve ever seen a strip where Luann actually called out Bernice on her snarkasm. Luann must have been noticing all along and now it has come to the surface.

How about a female version of Abbott and Costello?Martin and Lewis? Your turn.

7Today reads to me like Greg may be poking gentle fun at us for how many of us have consistently called out Bernice for being pretty much always “sarcastic”. Luann staring out at us (peering through the fourth wall perhaps?) when she says her line reinforces that idea to me. The ideas about the comedic duo would seem to work very well. To me they would fit perfectly into a “Burns & Allen” sort of style with Luann being Gracie and Bernice being George.So, I wonder if all the debate yesterday about Leslie’s tip “collecting” was all for naught? Could Leslie’s appearance yesterday just have been to be a busboy and he will be out of the picture for quite a while again…. or will he resurface again as this arc progresses? Perhaps Greg showed him busing tables simply as a red herring to get us thinking?

well considering all Bernice does is point out Luanns shortcomings or how she handles everything wrong, seems like a fair time for return in mutual honesty.

A routine like Sonny and Cher.

So Bernice has no artistic talents, but she’s good at sarcasm? Guess she’s gonna grow up to be a political cartoonist…

I am wondering if the talent show will be a way to resolve a bunch of issues: Les practising slight of hand for a magic show ;-), Jock really being named Jock and playing the bagpipes, Piro’s background being revealed, etc.

Ohhhhh, and Tiffany could ask Gunther to play the object of her affection in a skit, but of the night of performance she coukd not fake the kiss…

Talents huh? Well, Bern is very talented at snaring men in for silent films – wait I have that backwards. As for Luann, you got me there.

I just had a quiet little chuckle! By the time the show happens ( late July maybe?) we are going to have advanced so many ideas that no one will remember who said what when, and we will become our own comedy act here in the comments section! Oh, wait! Are some of us already there?

Hey, what if Bernice winds up in two acts that night – or having to choose between two if Piro asks her to join him in a silent film routine after She and Luann sign up for a Burnett Momma routine, or a Lucy and Ethel routine, or an Abbot and Costello routine, or something of their own in those veins?

Since Bernice is not the slightest bit interested in this whole thing, why would she get involved in a skit with Quill? And why would Quill get involved with a talent show as a participant, when he’s a professional actor? If anything, he might wind up being a judge (although after he told the DeGroots that he couldn’t work at The Fuse anymore, that would seem doubtful.)

My hope is for one day when we can read posts here without one mention of Luann being jealous because someone else is involved with Quill….

That was when I thought the direction was to dump Luann into yet another relationship (this time with a character that the creators had not even named), just because the creators of the ‘toon feared a loss of readership if Luann was NOT in a relationship.

Since that has not happened yet, I’m still reading in the hope that Luann will end up with some idea of a future that includes not just a guy but also a possible direction in life…

With a three week lead time i coukd imagine individual strips sometimes being subbed in, or short arcs dropped to advance another arc in the line-up, but usually such a lead time makes the guesses here irrelevant, ditto the size of the commentor and comment reading population in relation to the newspaper reading population. So, i coukd see ideas sometimes being liked but…

-Why don’t you visit 9 Chickweed Lane (especially ‘toons from 2 or 3 days ago)? That might be what you’re looking for…

Paul Lynde and Don Rickles both made careers with sarcastic jokes.. Not my favorite art form, but a talent is a talent.

Bernice should do a stand up comedy act in the old Don Rickles way. Just tear everyone a new one.

Most people have some kind of talent—something they are especially good at. Our society mostly values talents that are entertaining, because we like to be entertained. Certainly balancing a checkbook or doing brain surgery are more valuable than singing or accurately throwing a ball.

Why doesn’t Bernice have a job????

Hey, take a look in today’s Luann Again!

They’re even now. for all the times Bern has made critical snarky remarks to Luann, Luann is now throwing the ball back into Bern’s court.

Um, where’s Pru been through all this? She has a room in that house. Hello?

“I permanently dropped 9CL from my reading list after….,”_____________________________________

I tried, I Really TRIED, to Like 9CL. I followed it for awhile, but had quite of strips that the first two panels depicting an empty room and the LAST panel featuring the ‘Face’ of that Hideous, Hell-Spawned, “CAT.”

I knew there was something about Bernice that I liked.

I think the two separate WWII series of stories from 9CL might be the two best long comics stories ever done. They followed the secret stories of the grandparents during the war.

Bernice can always recruit Dez and friends to do one of their drum beating sessions with a jungle projection behind them. Gunther can make the leopard skin bikinis and skimpy loin cloths.

How about they spend the summer drinking beer and doing naughty things with some boys with tatoos.

How about you do that instead if cluttering up the comments section with suggestions that we all know Greg and Karen wouldn’t ever use.

Okay, as done in the movie, “Chicago”, Luann could be the ventriloquist and Bernice her dummy. Luann would sing and Bernice would deliver annoying ad libs.

spoiler alert:Both Luann and Bernice have their good points; It’s a toss-up which girl is the better catch.

Up to you.I decided to read him. I get the better end of the deal.
